The return seems to be low. That must have been the best they could get, but other teams must not have been offering much, or maybe Ryan indicated he wouldn't report to certain teams. Not to pick on you today, but lol. Bathurst is pretty much the bottom of the barrel when it comes to desirable places to play. Ryan would report anywhere if he'll report to Bathurst. I agree, this seems like very poor return for him. Can't believe they couldn't get a 2nd next year instead of the 5th this year.

Ryan isn't really that good. I think the return is low but the idea of a 1st for Ryan is kinda out there. He's not an impact player, and he's injury prone.

Could we not have gotten more for Andrew Ryan? Seems like a steal for Bathurst. Waited too long. Overage market dried up. They could have gotten more for Hardie, but really wanted the help on defence.

You (and anyone else) can pick out my mistakes on here if you choose to; thanks for pointing the earlier one out to me! I glanced at the table on the Q website and just assumed it read how I interpreted it. They set it up differently than most. I was wrong. I admit my errors and try to correct them. I assume they ran this trade by Ryan before they agreed to it to make sure he'd report. He'll play more on the top 2 lines there than he did here and can help teach their younger players. The Titan is almost the QMJHL version of Siberia, no one wants to go there and they haven't been well run in recent years. The other teams knew Russell had to trade one of his 20's and that put the value down at bit, but a 3 and a 5 is too low. I'm not sure I'd have made that trade, but they got a very good prospect coming back with the Dachyshyn pick.

Maybe the 5th round? I don't think he's been taken yet. Moral of the story: Don't believe everything you hear about the draft. I knew a young kid a few years ago played at Charles-Lemoyne that I thought would go in middle rounds. He's still waiting to be drafted ... out of university. :>)

They could have gotten more for Hardie, but really wanted the help on defence. The fact he hasn't played 60 games in a season (in 4 years) also has to factor into his price. But yea seems to have waiting a little long. Is it a good deal for Bathurst? If Ryan can stay healthy it is a good price for them...but why are they acquiring 20 year olds (just confusing).

Is a goaltender coming next? I don't know they goalie rankings, they must think they can get a good one with potential with their next pick, or sometime before the draft is done.
Ducharme on MA TV now, but it's in French; I have no what he's saying.

Despite what the people in Bathurst might tell you about the new ownership, nothing changes in Bathurst. Staring at a last place finish again.

They went into a bit of a firesale mode at Christmas to start a rebuild. So what do they do at the draft: - Trade FOR 3 20's and 3 19's **disclaimer - I may be off on ages...as Q removed "Junior Age" from player profiles. But they are getting older. 1 Step forward, 2 steps backwards.

As for Lafontaine they needed to dump him, since he wasn't playing another season with the Titan, and Ryan is an upgrade on him.

At 5'10" and 154lbs 2013-14 Gatineau L'Intrépide QMAAA 40 3 6 9 58 I'm curious what his upside is?
