MONCTON, NB, September 28, 2007 - Veteran forward Pierre-André Bureau, a native of St-Prosper, Québec, has been named captain of Université de Moncton’s men’s hockey team – les Aigles Bleus.
“Bureau is a great example of what the U de M hockey program and team have to offer: sports and people-oriented values, exemplary work ethics, the well-earned respect of his team-mates and opponents, social implication and both academic and athletic excellence,” said head coach Robert (Bob) Mongrain.
“Bureau is an exceptional leader gifted with a great overall attitude, Mongrain added. His actions make him a high performance athlete. He deserves this nomination as team captain and we know that he will have a group of players ready to support him.”
Mongrain also believes that the captain’s natural leadership qualities are a guarantee of success that will benefit the whole program.
Bureau has been a member of the Aigles Bleus for the past two years.
The 5'10'', 23-year old completed offensive player completed three seasons in the QJMHL, with the Montreal Rocket (now the PEI Rocket), before pursuing a bachelor degree in civil engineering at Université de Moncton.
