We have all been somewhat disgruntled with how things have gone so far. I thought I would start a thread for positive comments only about the team and coaches. Maybe we can provide some motivation to some guys by giving them some positive feedback. PLEASE...no negatives on this thread. Post those on another thread if you feel the need

OK, I will start. I really like Brian Main. He was a great addition to the team, and he gives you all hes got every game

Some positives for me:
Paynter shows up and gives 100% every shift, every game. Deserves regular ice time.
Jan Kana as been a good addition to this team. 17yr old kid who is a fan fav already.
Latal seems to be improved over last season........which means trouble for tenders in the league.
MacLeans skating is not as bad as was advertised my some scouts. He's quietly making an impression on some people. 2pts in 6 games.....with limited ice time.
DesRoches and his play.
Team seems to be a lot more gritty then the past. Players like Main, Kana, Paynter, DesRoches are not big, but all love to throw the body.
Deighan seemed to make the jump pretty easy...........despite the bad penalties. Good pick up!
Cliche has 2 goals in 7 games. He had 4 in 44 gms last season.
Wright who is 17 could turn into the "enforcer" we need down the road.
Beer girls still HOT!!

Latal's speed and tenacity
Paynter's heart
Doyle's slap shot
Cliche's quick release (I don't know where he found that this summer but it's come a long way!)
Southorn's play - for a 17 - he's cool and composed back there and getting better all the time

Well, it's my first look at this team this year at The Morgue - so I'm excited about that.....a little....I think.
Hell, I'm even passing up an AL playoff game on TV for this....so it had better be a good game!

I know this may sound ridiculous, but I think we may see this team find itself and become what they were advertised to be......if we are patient. We have a lot of pure talent. If they can just put together a couple of wins ina row...get the confidence flowing, good things can still happen

This is a real 'sucking up thread' to a team playing badly but I'm glad I found it because I was deliberately thinking of you guys and the pain you must be feeling and decided to share this.
Last fall the Titan started the year 3 wins 7 losses. In October/November they had an 11 game unbeaten in regulation time streak.
Things can turn around quickly.

I did not create it as a sucking up thread. I just thought that we had so much negative going on that we could distract ourselves a little and perhaps finding some positives would help. I think the players need the same thing right now to get their confidence back.

Main----- what a great pick-up by the rocket, crashes and bangs an never takes a night off Kana---- gonna be in the running for fan fav. small but gritty southorn--- big solid kid at 17, sees the ice well, and not afraid to get in the middle of things latal---- quickness walker----- dangerous doyle---- amazing shot but has to move the puck more and last but not least paynter---what a great role model for kids to make them believe anything is possible, hard work goes along way and this kid never takes a night off, great team player, will battle for his peers and the sparkplug for this team. but cant light the fire if your only playing two lines and sitting in the bench

Well since I'm a rah-rah type o' guy I'll give it a go.
I agree with pretty much all the previous posters and the players they mentioned. Kana - I love this kid right from opening night....fearless. Latal - In the running for Most Improved Player this year Mo, Walks and Doyler - After Marty the three big guns. Doyle needs to use that shot more, it's wickedly hard. Southorn - Hard to imagine this kid is 17....cool and calm back on the D.
For those who think 2-5 is suffering, well you didn't sit through the season I had going to Abbies games last year....9 wins. This year I'm extremely pleased to see a much improved product that will get even better with Street in their lineup.
I can understand fan's frustrations....I'm one myself, but I do keep reminding myself that hockey like a lot of other sports things can change and it doens't take much to do it.
Keep the chins up Rocket....we'll see you tonight!!! Roy Who? Angelo Who?

I still think that with so much negatively (rightfully so) it is nice idea to make sure we don't forget some of the positives.
1. Morrison and Walker both came back. In the offseason I really was worried that we could lose at least one of these very talented players. And it should be a treat to watch them dominate all season.
2. Kana came in as good or better than advertised. Kana plays hard, he plays physical and has skill. At only 17 I think he could become our best Euro yet.
3. Main has been a great surprise for me. He has shown that he can be much more than a 4th line energy guy. He gives it everything he has every shift and I think he could be a regular defenseman for us.
4. Latal is starting to show some finish and looks poised to have a very productive year.
5. MacLean has impressed me as well. Still has lots of developing to do but he seems to be adjusting well.
