Monarchs Assign Ryan To Quebec
MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have assigned defenseman Joe Ryan to the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
What would it cost to land Ryan here?
Would Saint Patrick even shop him around, seeing as their D is pretty young and they could definitly use him?
..........I doubt it, but he would be a great addition to this Rocket team.

I that depends on who Patrick would shop around as Defosses, Lacroix and Bergeron are their current 20 yr olds. I can't see Defosses being moved. If there had to be a choice between Ryan, Lacroix and Bergeron, I think any one of the 3 could be a help for the Rocket. Lacroix would be the top 6 forward that the Rocket need, while Bergeron and Ryan are upgrades on Swit.
One question is what it would cost to land either one of those 3 here, but IMO the bigger question is would Savard be willing to realize and admit that Swit was not a good acquistion as an overage player.

Bergeron is out cos you cant go back to a former team within a certain time frame and i think that would end hopes of that for the Rocket (unless that is exempt for 20s)

2.14.7 Players cannot Return to their a former team
A transferred or traded player cannot return, whether through a waiving, transfer or a trade to the team that last transferred or traded him, except for a 16 year-old player returning to his first team once he turns 19 years old or for a 17 year-old player once he turns 20 years old. For application purposes of the present article, in the case of a trade made during the annual session, a player is deemed to have the age of the following year and not the preceding year.
I believe that Bergeron was traded by the Rocket to the Huskies at the 2005 draft.

Ah I didn't realise it was only the last team. I didn't either until I copied and pasted that. Actually when I mentioned Bergeron in my first post I forgot that he was a previous member of the Rocket, thanks for pointing that out! |

Patrick probably won't be looking to shop anyone right away, Bergeron is out injured, not sure when he is due back, they have been playing with only two 20's ...
On a related note, their was apparently a bit of a fracas last night in Saint John which featured numerous Remparts flipping the bird to the HS fans, and, more importantly, Desfosses swinging his stick at some hecklers and accidentally hitting a kid ... some claim he could be facing a lengthy suspension ... it will not be pretty in Quebec if Patty Junior is forced into action as #1 for any length of time ....
