Just saying, teaching kids systems at 11-12 > fundamental skills is why Canada gets beat by the likes of Sweden Yeah Canada sucks at hockey. I think jamesnorris here is just making a joke / poking fun at the fact that up untill recent years the junior hockey development in Sweden really strayed away from skill development and only taught systems which really hindered them internationally up until recent years.

Yeah Canada sucks at hockey. and that's the attitude that holds Canada back. Holds us back from what exactly?

I think he's saying Sweden has a better developmental system then Canada and that's why they beat us.

Canada 518,008 junior players 721,504 total players Men's World Ranking 4 Sweden 41,521 junior players 56,839 total players Men's World Ranking 1 It shouldn't even be close.

Some random copy and pasted opinion is all you care about? Look at the past 15-20 years of history. Sweden won 1 Olympic Gold we won 3. Sweden won 3 World Hockey Championships and we won 3. We won the only World Cup. Sweden won 1 World Juniors. We won 5. Put the best Canadians on the ice and history says that more often then not Canada wins so who cares about random rankings?

I'm sure you don't even know who Tommy Boustedt is but you're going to tell me what's what in Swedish Ice Hockey now eh? He overhauled their Development System 10 years ago and one of the main focuses was getting skill development into junior coaching > systems and it's yielding extremely positive results. It's not some random copy and pasted opinion, that guy is much smarter than you or I. They have a 1/10th the # of junior players... I wouldn't want to be Canada if those numbers were reversed considering the recent junior results.

Anyway, back to the games, hopefully the boys empty the tank tonight and bring home at least 1 win to show from the trip.
The ratio of home to away games we've had so far this year is pretty brutal so that probably accounts for a few loses, and not just away games but games in Quebec.
Hoping I don't see anything like the 1st period of last nights game.

Anyone remember the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Canada beat Sweden 3-0 in the finals with a near perfect defensive system by the Canadians. The other team can't beat you if they can't score on you. My point being, allowing 5 or more goals a game and with no systems in place, no success.I am not trying to disrespect or discredit Dumont and I think he has done a wonderful job as the GM, bur I haven't seen anything yet that inspires me to think he is a competent coach.

Yep. Regardless of how high octane the offence is. Needing to score 5+ goals a game to win is far from a recipe for success.

Patrick McNeil @cbse_pbp ยท 18m 18 minutes ago The cbsehockey will dress a short bench tonight- Nosella still out (upper body), Tim Simard (sickness), Evgeny Svechnikov (lower body) I figured Svechnikov was gonna be injured eventually, he takes some crazy abuse on the ice without drawing any penalties somehow.

I was just wondering why Martineau was on the first line. Now I know why.

Are we ever going to get to listen to Pat Macniel in sync with the game?

Are we ever going to get to listen to Pat Macniel in sync with the game? Nah the technology simply isn't there yet, way too advanced for our times
