Forbie and Mike were let go by the Cap's. The main problem with 2 line coaches is that their best players get exhausted, while the kids that need developing, don't get developed.........I think the Rocket should look at their coaching situation and then look how the cap's hopefully helped solved their problems.

In your last post you said it was the players fault for playing poorly and to lay off the coach, now are you saying they should get rid of Jean like Forbie??

I am assuming that Kenny MacDougall will take over the coaching duties...at least in the interim

Caps poor season is due to the lack of skill on the team...first and foremost.

I still say that the players are the ones ultimately responsible for the way they play individually, but coaches who don't utilize their players rightly, are the one's responsible for how the team is doing......rightly or wrongly. I wonder if the teams that utilize the whole bench game after game, do better or worse? I just think that the players aren't being as scrutinized as Jean is, or they are not being called on their mistakes.

Interesting post convert. I think that he may have been overcalling them on thier mistakes early on and tied them in knots and now they have begun thinking they cannot win, although I think some just don't care, and they are the supossed leaders.
As for using the whole bench, I think thats very important. Its good for morale because all players are getting a shot, team gels better, players get a chance to develop, and then when crunch time comes, coach gives the guys playing best during a game more ice time as a reward, and has secondary talent ready to step in if the top guys are struggling.
Look at tit this way. Playoffs come, opposing teams focus on the big guns on our team giving them little room to do anything. If the other players on the team are prepared and developed, they can make the difference. make sense?

players play within the systems set up by the coaching staff.... when sysytems are obviously not working why wouldn't you change them or tweak them?
the players definitely get called out plenty for their mistakes.. but ultimately you can't change an entire team (altho Serge essentially did just that for Yannick after year one) ... results are no better... time to sack the hack
