The thing is Lafleur has proven he belongs in this league and should be one of the top goalies in the league What ever happend Weather its jean and hes not playing cause of him or. Its his confidence Cause i mean i hear you on that point leaving him in goal after goal its stupid he should have been pulled on the 3rd or 4th goal. Then the game got right out of reach. He is not using the bench that well and its kinda messing things up changing lines etc. Its the same with Lafleur and Gells. He has proved him self as well he can step in and play well, why not use that option and then laf's confidence would not get so shot down. Its to bad to see him going through all of this cause he is a very talented goalie and has that chance to go far. But he needs to shake the cobb webs and get at it. bring is GaA up and in time it will come maybe what needs to happen is gells gets the starts for now see what happens but jean wont do that so its hard to say hopefully somthing happens.

One thing is sure, Mior is giving us in Gatineau a chance to win every game, except for the first game. That was his only bad game. I thing he just made peace with himself. Now, he looks like he's having fun and he looks calm in the net. He really looks like the first rounder he was several years ago. Several years ago? It feels like Mior's been in the league about 12 years! ;D

This thread got me wondering how/when does Jean decide to give the goalie the Hook. I looked at the stats for the first 11 games and came away scratching my head. I know timing of goals is only one factor and does not take into account what might have happened out front. Here's what I saw: Sep 14th - Halifax 5-2 Loss Laff 60 Min Gave Up 2 in a 5 min span in the second team down 3 -1 No Change Sep 15th Sea Dogs Loss 6-3 Laff started played 28:13 Gave up 2 in about 2 minutes at the 8 min mark team down 4 Laff got the hook Sep 19th Lewiston 4-1 Win Laff 60 Mins Sept 21 Fog Devils 6 -1 WIn Gelinas 60 Mins Sep 22 Fog Devils 6 - 3 Loss Laff 60 Mins 3 goals in less than 3 mins to low a 3-2 lead and go down 2 goals at the 8 min mark of the third No Change Sep 27 Sea Dogs 6 - 2 Loss Gelina 11:39 Mins 2 goals in 7 min span Team down 2-0 Got the Hook Laff 48:21 Mins Sep 28 Wild Cats 2 - 0 Loss Laff 58+ Mins October 5th Remparts 7 - 6 Win Laff 60 Mins In under a minute and a half at the 15 in mark of the first 4 goals two each Rocket lead 3-1 No Change Gave up 2 goals in under a 4 minute span in the first 5 mins of the third to go down 6-5 on the board No Change Oct 6th Halifax 6 - 3 Loss Laff 60 Mins 2 goals in under 2 minuts in the forst 4 minutes of the second to go down 4-3 on the board No Change Oct 12 Gatineau Loss 7 -4 Laff 55 Mins 3 goals in the first 2 four mins apart at the end of the period to go down 3-2 No Change 2 goals in first 12 mins of the second down 5-1 No Change 2 goals 5 mins apart at the 15 min mark of the third down 7-3 Laff gets the Hook Oct 13 Shawinagan Win 4-3 Gelnas 60 Mins EDIT Oct 14 Victoriaville 5 - 4 OT Loss Laff 63:37 2 soft goals 10 minutes apart to put the team down 3-2 at the 13 min mark of the second No Change

.. i agree with fireside...the team is leaving Lafleur out to dry..but antoine needs to start playing much better if he wants to have a decent season. But also the boys need to start playing better . I dont see why Jean didn't start Gelinas tonight, would have made much more sense.
A 4.57 GAA and a save % of 0.837, while facing an average of 28 shots per game..thats not good....needs to pick up the pace if he wants to play good........1 more thing....FIRE JEAN

Play Marc-Antoine GĂ©linas Nuff Said Who cares if Lafleur is drafted or not, we wanna win, then play the goalie that is doing the job, let Laffs know his Spot as #1 isnt set in stone, give him the Ultimate wake up call start Gels for 4-5 str8 games and besides Laff is 2-8 while Gel is 2-0 we win 100% of Gels games while only 20% of Laffs and i wont bother about his 2.8g ga compared to a 4.89 .........

Mior's been gone for a year now and you still can't let him go!! We love him here in Gatineau and is a huge reason for our success to date. By the way, Mior 2 - Morrison 0 since the trade........merci beaucoup mes amis!!
If not more!

Not knocking Mior, but his inconsistency has been his biggest downfall.

Where do you get the score of Mior 2 Morrison 0?
We're very happy with Brett Morrison here, and I am glad Mior has played well for you guys.. but that is definitely one trade we won easily

bois, how can you asy you won that trade?? We were both beaten in the first round last year and we're ten points ahead of you right now. Mioir is the only player left from that traed and if you look at the past trades with the Rocket, he's the only player left as where you guys have 5 ex-Olypiques on the roster. All players in which Benoit Groulx tagged as 'non-team' players with the exception of Main.
Morrison was a very good player here but, as witnessed last Friday, hates to be hit and won't go into traffic and utlimately, is a puck hog who Jeam plays way too much.
It's been noted in the local paper Le Droit that Groulx continually praises Mior for his attitude and team approach to the game and that younger players could learn from his example in practice, in the room, and on the ice. I really can't comment on Mior when he was there but, it was clear he never reached his potential there and it could very well be it was largely his doing but, he's been very solid with the exception of the frist game which was a combination of the whole team being lacklustre and not having Byron and Giroux in the line-up. If you check his record since then, he's in the low 2 GAA and over 910 Sav%.
I don't know how long Mior's play will stay consistent becuase this has been his achille's heal but, for now, he's the backbone of this team. Let's hope it continues since the Olympiques look really good right now and whom I believe are one good solid defensemen from taking it all this year. Their work ethic is insomparable to any team we've seen all year and this is where the Rocket need improvement.
You guys have an abundance of talent up front especially but they are not a cohesive team and that isdefinitely the Coach's responsibility. Around here, it's Groulx's way or the highway and all the players know this or they get shipped out. Groulx has said forever in the papers, he'd take a true team guy over talent anyday because that's how games are won.......with twenty guys not one line or two individuals. After all, hard work beats talent when talent don't work!!

He's maddeningly frustrating sometimes because he passes too much and should take the shot more often. That is one of the more ridiculous things I've read on this board in a while.

I agree he is a Puck hog, ppl on this board know it and its bad for the team, he only passess to Walker and if ur not #8 chances are your not gettin the puck when morrison is on the ice, Sure he has 12 Assist but chances are ur gonna get that when u play 40 minutes a night
