Jean should sit Lafleur for a bit and let Gels play. It is apparent that the boys play with more confidence when Gels is in the net. What do we have to lose at this point. I think that Gels has earned it.

If Yannick Jean continues to play Morrsion like he does, he'll be burnt to a crisp by the end of January and what good will he be then??
From what i saw last week, you guys have enough talent that other players can play half the PP and PK. Giroux, as good as he is, never gets more than 45 seconds on any poewer play and neither does Marchand who was here yesterday. the coach has to show some faith in other players as well or you get separation on the team.
To calrify my ponit on Morrison, I don't care that he has more assists than goals. Like Justin12 said above, when you play forty minutes a game, you should be on the scoresheet. If any of you people saw the game last friday, Morrison tried - on many occasions - to beat the Gatineau defense alone when he could have either passed or dumped the puck. Maybe he was rying to hard to make his mark on his former team.
Anyway, enough on this, good luck to you guys the rest of the year!!

This is not a new thing for us. Mo is the playmaker on this team.....with Walker the sniper. Two ex Gatineau players that would perhaps make your team a contender this season?

Hully if Groulx ever gets upset with Claude Giroux, Matthew Pistilli or Steven Delisle tell him we'll take them too
As for the trade last year there are actually 3 players still playing not just Mior.... Morrison is our best player and one of the very best in the league and Gervais is a very serviceable second pairing dman...
I'm glad Mior is playing well for you but Gatineau is the one team Savard has pretty much been able to fleece repeatedly in trades
Nobody here will argue our coaching leaves much to be desired or that our top guys play too much

No thanks. Been there and done that. They couldn't keep up with our pace and that's a fact.

"I'm glad Mior is playing well for you but Gatineau is the one team Savard has pretty much been able to fleece repeatedly in trades"
Fleece??? You traded Trukhno for Lessard. Trukhno was picked on the first all-star team last year and where was Lessard? Trukhno's playing in the AHL whereas Lessard had 2 awful camps with Ottawa and was pegged as lazy and not willing to pay the price.
Walker was a steal and I agree but he was awful here. Then again, if you get in Groulx's bad books you're screwed but again, agreed that was vey good for your team.
After that, I think things look pretty even for both teams.

Trukhno gave you one year of service, a good year for sure but slowed in the second half, and didn't help with any playoff success.
Plus he demanded to be traded from the Rocket, so it was a matter of getting the best value possible. Defence was where we lacked depth the most, and Lessard was a just recently NHL drafted player, before he'd had his 2 sub-par camps.
We'll likely get 3 years of service from Lessard.
Trukhno is unquestionably a more talented hockey player then Lessard, but I don't think we lost that trade by much, if at all.

Didn't we also get your Euro pick in the Truhkno deal which we subsequently used to take Martin Latal
So in essence we lost Boivin (no loss.. bounced to his third Q team this year), Truhkno (dressing room cancer and demanded out), Mior (inconsistant and was riding the pine at time of deal) and Guilbault to acquire Walker, Lessard, Latal, Gervais and Morrison
Like I said if Groulx decides he doesn't like Delisle or Pistilli sometime this year for tying their skates wrong tell him to give Serge a call.. we'll give you a great big tall kid named Cliche

I find that sometimes when trying to determine the winner and losers of a trade, alot of it depends on perception. A trade may look really good for one team, but it can also look really good for the other team also depending on how it is being evaluated.
Take the Morrison-Mior deal. We got Morrison and Gervais which has worked out really well for the Rocket, it's a kind of deal that Rocket fans would make again in a heartbeat. If Mior is playing as well as suggested by Gatineau fans, then it's a good trade for them also. When Mior left here last season he didn't play well since the start of the season for whatever reason, with bad goals and inconsistency being the main culprits (sound familiar, ie. Lafleur). But perhaps all he needed was a change of scenery, which also helped Walker when he came over.
When you have a trade that works out for both teams people can debate until they are blue in the face who won, but it's not uncommon for both teams to come out winners depending on what their needs are.

Ask any Q GM who they'd rather have Morrison or Mior and it would be a land slide..
PEI hosed GAT....quite easily in fact.
