Your implication makes it a big deal....no? Yes, perhaps. I took offence to it, for obvious reasons. It must be awfully easily to offend you, if the original post is what set you off. Racist? Get real.

i agree that it is a great idea to post the articles in both french and english, could the website not be bilingual and an area where you choose if you want the information in english or french? not one article about the rocket in the paper today....sad really, tho nothing much to report, same old same old really as of late.....sure the story will be better on Monday, they'll be able to at least speak to one win..... and Dogpound, I really don't think anyone was trying to be racist...they were just posing a question and had some good and helpful suggestions...ie...posting in both languages... i was at acadian night and didn't hear anyone complaining that the goals/penalties etc were announced in both languages nor that the anthem was sang in both languages...tho that night i do think the mic cut out.....i think ppl at the CCC expect it in both languages most times and I am quite often surprised when it is not sung in both languages considering we are the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League...... Tons of other things to worry about with this team that are far more important then an article in one language over another, and a simple solution is like someone said...post them in both languages....now that would be an easy response...Non?

Firstly there were numerous articles about the Game and the returning former Gatineau players,m all were in French. I choose what goes up as news not "the Savard family". Also the first language of many Islanders is French. If you have a problem reading it, ask one of the hundreds of school children in French Immersion to read it to you. Sorry to step on your toes Flipper I was asking a question as I am unable to read French and was wondering why there would not be an English version. Yes there are lots of kids in French Immersion which my kids will be taking but I did not so I wanted to know what it said. As for the comment about getting someone to read it for me was very low. I was just asking a simple questions. I have listen to enough bullshit from the organization and still keep giving them $900 a year and if this is the way things are going to keep going I will be taking my kid to watch the Abbies.

Let me rephrase the answer I gave. I spend my days working in both official languages, and there are people I work with that do not speak French.
Their solution when they do not understand the other language, is to ask someone who does.
I have never worked anywhere that it was not in a bilingual position, and I take it for granted that there is always someone around to translate. (The most plentiful supply of those people in Charlottetown, are the school children, and they love to tell you about their French)
As for taking the time to translate to English that is also possible, but it does take time if you want to get it right.
I am not talking about one of those programs that make no sense but in a verbatim transcript.

It wasn't so much "posing a question" as showing irritation at one instance of use of French - the kind of intolerance I've encountered often over the decades, but don't put up with any more. Sure, there are lots more important things to talk about, after all, this is a hockey board.....but I'm not the one who brought it up initially, remember?

More of the same stupidity. Once somebody starts shit like this, this is what happens. Now, all the team's problems become an "English-French" thing, which of course they're not. Dumb.

That's why you like Don Cherry and think his "Frenchy" remarks are harmless. Dense. Done with this place.
