The Mooseheads have won the first 2 games of their Quebec trip, including a 8-5 win last night in Rouyn Noranda. Val D'Or is coming off of an 11-1 drubbing they took by the hands of the Victoriaville Tigres. Nik Ehlers has had 11 points in the last 2 games (4 goals 7 assists). It wouldn't surprise me if Resop starts this one in goal for the Moose; the Team Canada selection camp starts tomorrow in Montreal.

I thought the camp started tomorrow; my mistake. I think Fucale will get an invite.

Resop on the bench the whole trip... is this because they want to play Fucale as much as possible before camp or they just have no faith in Resop?

Fucale played last night and gave up 5, it would have been a good time to go with Resop. I wonder if the 17 wins left to set a Q record is having an influence this year. I know he's played a lot in the past, but where we are rebuilding and we may need to go with another guy if he is traded, we need to give Resop some games (unless the plan is to pay for a cheap experienced guy to carry the load in the second half). Not to mention we are on our 3rd in 4 nights and have a very rookie defense, its not likely these games are going to help his numbers and trade value.

Nice to see Shewfelt finally get going on this trip.
I think everyone was counting on him having more than 2+4 at this point in the season.

Val D'Or comes back with a good effort after the whipping they took last night vs. Victoriaville. The Mooseheads winning 2 of 3 ins't bad I guess. Val D'Or has given up the most goals this season, though they are near the top in goals scored. Was surprised they gave Fucale the start (not for the reason I erroneously mentioned earlier); could've given Resop a chance to get more experience and work on his game. He'll have to play in the likely event Fucale is at the World Juniors in less than a month.
Ehlers with 2 more points, has had 13 in the last 3 games.

Bob mckenzie believes there will be only 2 goalies invited, fucale and comrie the likely canidates.

I wish I'd seen the game. From the stats, it doesn't look like Fucale had a great game (25 saves/30 shots = 0.833). Two power play goals, but still....

Nice to see Shewfelt finally get going on this trip. I think everyone was counting on him having more than 2+4 at this point in the season. Back to back games with a goal. Hopefully that does get him going because after a promising rookie season, he's been easily the most disappointing forward this year. He has looked like a completely different player than last season, not just in his lack of offense, but giveaways, and defensive game as well. I had this guy pegged for 15-20 goals... maybe it can still be accomplished.
