AUS is BY FAR the best hockey to watch around here - fast-paced, no fights, great goaltending. ....not crazy about the sound system at the Mac, though - they're not happy unless they're busting your ears, it seems. Can't go tonight, it's Hallowe'en, and I've been grounded. I'll be there on Nov 10th, though! Lol no fights thats not a good game wheres the excitement.

No, it's called hockey without the stupidity that normally goes with it. That's what makes it better. But you wouldn't understand.

It may not be hockey that you like, but it's hockey. Obviously, you don't feel that hockey by itself is entertaining enough to watch, so you need fights. Lots of people feel the same way. I don't.

I don't expect to see a fight every game, nor am I disappointed if a fight doesn't occur every game, but when they do happen it's entertaining. I like the spontaneity it can bring to the game, not to mention it can often uplift both teams' spirits in an otherwise poor game. Sometimes you just need a little something to light that fire under your ass and get you going.

While there very little to no fighting in university hockey the hits are certainly there and the speed as well. Also there has been a crackdown on stick infractions of the years to cut back on the stickwork which used to be prevalant in university hockey. One thing you can always say about a Dylan Taylor coached team is that they never give up and you can always walk away from the rink knowing they worked their asses off. Dylan has added a few guys this season that can score. One thing about the AUS it is the most competitive conference in the nation. Two wins can move you to the top, two losses can move you to the bottom, it's that tight. Panthers are in the middle of the pack above .500 and if they can stay there until the Christmas break, wtach out in the 2nd half. For the past two seasons the Panthers have been one of the better teams in the second half, but were usually donein by a poor first half of the season. They WILL make the playoffs this year and dare I say, will win a round.

. I like the spontaneity it can bring to the game, not to mention it can often uplift both teams' spirits in an otherwise poor game. . You said "spontaneity", but I think you meant "stupidity". Most of the fights in Major Junior aren't "spontaneous". They're planned, they're staged, they're boring, they're stupid, they pander to morons, and they bring down the great game of hockey.

They're planned, they're staged, they're boring, they're stupid, they pander to morons, and they bring down the great game of hockey. Was that comment about pandering to morons really necessary to express your opinion? If you don't like fights, that is fine and is your choice, the same goes for people who like the fights or don't mind them. But no need to be insulting about it by calling people morons because their preferances differs from yours. You give out your opinion about topics and people may discuss it or argue with you about it, but at least they are respectful enough that they don't call you a moron because of it.

OK, then, you're right, and I take it back. I was actually referring to people who go to games only to see fights - that's the only time they seem interested in what's happening on the ice; but I didn't make that clear at all. Thanks for pointing it out.
