Quebec is the favorite. Rimouski and Blainville will be their biggest competition. I don't expect anyone from the Maritimes to reach the final.
Halifax got good value as a seller.
Very under whelming as a whole since a lot of the action came early on.

Is it possible to say Quebec won because Duclair was sent back to junior?

Is it possible to say Quebec won because Duclair was sent back to junior? When you add it into everything else they've done I think you can. Like Fucale he's a player they didn't have yesterday that they will soon so that's a big addition.

Quebec has an edge in nets, Rimouski on defense, up front both have firepower...I had Rim as favorites before adding Beaudoin...Tkachev Fucale Murphy makes it real close...losing Donaghey hurts...

Wouldn't he be back by that point in the playoffs? Say rounds 3 or 4? Or is he completely done?

At this point they are hoping for the Memorial Cup...the hard part is if he comes back mid playoffs it's hard to be in game shape with everybody in playoff mode.

For Gatineau is a winner in terms of the trade period. They got a great return on Pepin. You'd think he was a PPG player, but they turned a guy on their 4th line into a decent 16 year old, and two 2nds. They also took a player who requested a trade, typically lowering value, and turned him along with a 1st into two very good players. Their deal involving euros seemed fair also.
You could argue their decisions were misguided given their place in the standings, but in terms of return on the trade, for me they're a winner.
I'd say Halifax was a winner, as was Quebec.
I think Saint John was a loser, trading their best player while near the top of the standings. It's not like Leblanc was done after this year. Then they pay big for a 3rd liner, but I like Imama as a player. Seemed to lack direction.

I think Moncton is on the seat driver for the 1st overall position...Alot of good team in the same section of Quebec, Rimouski, Baie-Comeau ...lot of win will be split between these teams

I don't see Blainville as serious competition for league title..... they once again sat still at trade deadline.. and will likely win 2 rounds of playoffs and go out in semis Gatineau probably did do the best job although I doubt they accomplished what they really wanted... i think they got left at the alter trying to swing for a homerun late in the trade period... and they are still a 16th place team with alot of ground to makeup in a short timeframe

There were lots of winner, IMO.....as many teams had different directions to go. Cape Breton had needs on D and goaltending and addressed that very good, along with some extra scoring...I'd put them a winner. Bathurst finally took it upon themselves to get younger and picked up a few really good prospects..although I wished for a bit more for Gosselin, I'd class them as a winner. Quebec added a few pieces and should be better, but have yet to show it. Saint John confused me....traded away their best player then paid too much for another one....apparently they addressed a need, but hard to call them a winner. Halifax would be middle of the road for me...they did ok on the Fucale trade....I expected them to trade away more.

What was the deal with Ehlers and Gaudoury ?
I figured Hali would have tried to get some value out of them.

At the end of the day, you have 2 guys with NTCs, who didn't want to leave Halifax in a market that is rough for sellers. Between the 2 of them between 35-45 goals in the final 24 games of the season isn't unrealistic. I'd say that's value

Oh I didn't realize they had a NTC.
I just figured since neither of them would be back next year that they might have tried to get soemthing rather than nothing for the big picture / rebuild .
But yeah having them definitely doesent hurt the team lol
