While not every goal on LaFleur was brutal, the first certainly was, and he didn't look confident. I don't see how you could go back to him tomorrow night. I suspect they they wont. Gelinas has played well for this team so far this season, and it;s about time he began to start some games. Let Lafleur sit for a couple........see what happens. Then again, the last game Gelinas started, he got shelled early I believe. Gel is doing so well and those games he started were hard played games, except for one where the team kinda left him hanging there on his own. But He's a great goalie, and Laffy has got to start gaining his confidence back yes. And if you don't start Gel, at least put him in before the 3rd.. We get most of our goals in the 2nd lol.. Tho the guys did play well in the parts I seen online (my internet was dying.. stupid.) Didn't get to see any fights tho. anyone got videos of it?

Main didn't do so well in his fight or could you actually call it that?

Quick thoughts to pass along...
As far as Lafleur goes, the game just doesn't look fun to him at all right now. The first goal he gave up to Cusack was pretty lame, and the other four weren't all his fault as his defense left him hanging, but he did over commit and if he was sharp, maybe a couple of those don't get through and it is a different game late.
Gelinas looked sharp... the goal off Beaton's shoulder no one would have saved as that jumped 90 degress on the deflection into the net. He also played with more spice and jump than Lafleur did.
Doyle-Morrison-Walker was a fun line to watch. Everytime they hit the ice, they moved the puck around well and created some nifty plays. Latal was surprisingly invisible last night, and the Rocket need him to play a factor on the score sheet.
Lessard was by far the best defenseman, and may be your only defenseman. Gervais & Southorn didn't have games to write home about at all, and the others seemed slow.
The scrap between Bourdeau & Main didn't amount to much as Main lost an edge and it was over before a punch was thrown. The bout between Labelle and Paynter was the best fight the locals have seen this year.
Glad to see that Cory had no problems relaying the game back to you folks this time as last year was a huge problem for him with phone line issues in the press box.

look for Paynter to miss some time I think he may have broken his hand in the fight with Labelle, what a spirited bout.

Main didn't do so well in his fight or could you actually call it that? I think he slipped. That one never got going--too bad the ref didn't give them roughing so they could have a proper scrap! However, Paynter and Labelle gave the crowd their money's worth (although, as Hockeyrules points out, hopefully Paynter didn't damage his hand too much in that).

Team defense as a whole has to be playing alot better, not just the defenseman and goalies, if the Rocket are going to win games. Even Cory mentioned on one of Lewiston's goals how all the Rocket forwards were caught too deep in the offensive zone to come back and help the defense. The team is in the top 5 in goals for and dead last in goals against, IMO that's a sign of not playing with enough balance between offensive play and defensive play.
If the Rocket defenseman are considered too young and inexperienced, then perhaps the coaches should be compensating for that by having the forwards more involved in team defense to take some of the pressure off the defenseman, which in turn will help the goalies also. Alot of people are expecting/hoping that the Rocket get an experienced defenseman at the trading period, but until that happens they should be learning to work with what they have and start putting some wins on the board.

they should give the misconduct if they DON'T remove the helmet.
althought you'd see alot less fights. show me a scrap in the last 2 years with this team that wasn't 95% punching helmet and shoulder pads. 2 puffy padded guys tiring themselves out by swinging then falling to the ice. mmmm...
