Can the Mooseheads get a replacement? He yells out who was on the score sheet, but takes it to another level when it is on PP goal. He adds on at the end "ON THE POWER PLAY!" It is like he makes it out to be a HUGE accomplishment to score on the power play! If you are going to yell about what situation in the game the goal was scored at, I think it would make more sense to yell "AT EVEN STRENGTH!" or "ON THE PENALTY KILL!".
Why is it industry wide to have a guy that yells who scores? Do the players love it? If they do, then we have no choice but to keep that style. But it seems to make more sense to just simply read who scored the goal and who assisted on the goal - the way Pat Connelly did, the way the guy did at Maple Leaf Gardens. Maybe this style pumps up the players, but to me it just comes off as a gimmick and annoying.

Not a troll post, it is how I really feel. Instead of accusing me of being a troll, which I'm pretty sure as posters on the forum we aren't supposed to do, tell me why you feel what I'm saying is wrong or what you disagree with.

How often do people state things twice on here? Since the history of Moosetalk.

You come on a hockey message board and never talk about the games. Why don't you take your crap elsewhere. Try taking your diversity agenda to the KKK message board for some good fun.

I was active in pretty much every playoff game thread. What more do you want from me? I felt this is an issue worth bringing up again.

The guy who does it at the Robert Guertin Centre is perfect. Can't recall from my old days of having Eastlink. What is he like?

I actually sorta agree with the just of this post. I do think Ian is a little much at times and really doesn't have a clue over all. I know the official scorer and he has told me it's very sad how hand feed he needs to be. A goal is scored he sits there asking and waits for everything. Instead of looking up and getting the time of the goal at least. And then the ref comes and tells the goal scorer he doesn't even write that down. He needs all of it from the scorer. I know this is little minor things but he's been doing for how long that he should be able to get that much don't you think?
That's all trivial really but here's my thinking on replacing Ian. Why not try and get a female doing it. I've been thinking about this for a while now. I think it might just add a new aspect and might even grab a new fans base. Get young girls in to it (in a different way then usual) ( can you say puck bunny).
Also I don't know how many Jays fans are out there but the Jays do this thing called Jr Jays. It's every either Saturday or Sunday afternoon home games. They let a kid announce the batters for an inning or two. Maybe the Moose could do something similar on Sunday afternoon home game and let some kid announce the starting line up. Just some thing I thought might add to the atmosphere.

Stupid question....of course the Mooseheads could get a replacement....but why would they want to? Ian does a great job....part of that job being to engage the crowd. They could find anybody to "just simply read who scored" but that's not all that position is. If anything should go it should be the dancing pizza slice!
