only comment i have, and i am sure you all are happy i only have one, is in regards to haddad. he showed very little while he was here, and at the time was no big loss to this team. if he showed what he is showing this year, i am quite sure he would be still here as a 19 year old.

As for the deal with Lund.. I disagree strongly a few months of a marginal 20 y/o plus a 3rd round pick in 2 years is worth cutting ties with a 5th pick overall halfway thru his 17 year old season Forget the fact he was the 5th overall pick would you have rathered a few more games with Lund and then have him quit. Not just rumours he publically said that he was contiplanting quiting and he had not be moved he would have quit meaning the Rocket would have lost him for nothing. If Savard thought he had the players to go for it last year.. his deals are even stranger.. we subtracted our top defenseman (Guilbault), an experienced goalie (Mior), a veteran checking forward (Hawes).. not exactly moves made by a team "going for it" I can't speak for Savard but IMO coming into last season he added pieces to help this team be very competitive (Lessard, Latal, Guilbault & Doucet). The deals your speaking of Mior & Hawes were at Christmas when it became clear that under Jean this team wasn't producing which would require a change of plans. But I think at the start of last season and this season he really felt on paper the team was good enough. Unfortuantely under Jean neither team produced at that level.

Forget the fact he was the 5th overall pick would you have rathered a few more games with Lund and then have him quit. Not just rumours he publically said that he was contiplanting quiting and he had not be moved he would have quit meaning the Rocket would have lost him for nothing. All Lund said was that he was contemplating quitting because he was frustrated with his own play and the way he was being used, he never did quit and was still a roster player at the time of the trade. I remember Savard saying in the Guardian at the time of the trade how he probably could have gotten a better deal for Lund but he made the trade to Halifax because it's Lund's home town. He never said whether it was a request by Lund or not, but that was Savard's choice to make that deal with Halifax. The return on that deal for Lund wasn't solely because Lund was contemplating quitting, because Savard had a choice to deal with other teams and even said himself he probably could have gotten a better deal.

hockeyfan I agree going into last season he made several key additions to make us a legitimate club... I don't recall exactly where we were standingswiuse at the trade period last year but he did add the top available offensive player last season in Morrison.. then he turned around and dealt Hawes and Lund for nothing of value to a playoff run last year or this.. that's been my point all along.. no matter how many rumours you come up with as to why so and so had to be moved it doesn't change anything
also if Lund actually quit .. I am positive it wouldn't have been for very long.. 17 year old kids who were highly touted prospects rarely quit
anyways Mior threatned to quit a few times.. Hruska disappeared for awhile.. MacAulay quit... Grags quit ... none of those guys were dealt ... why is Haddad or Lund any different?
we've seen alot of very good hockey players here in our 5 years... but we've never really seen a team built for anything

hawes now up to 15 goals! best thing to happen to tyler going to the huskies... worst thing that ever happened to the rocket, if im not mistaken, would he not have the most goals on the rocket if he was there? You wouldn't happen to be a puck bunny, would you?

aaaaaaaahahaha. NO. i havent attended a rocket game since hawes got traded. thanks for the laugh just the same... but u wouldnt happen to be a fan of the worst team in the league right now? yeah... You do realize that they all eventually leave the junior teams right? ? kinda sad that you only went to watch the team for one player, if ya liked Hawsey so much why dont' ya wear the coat and cuddle to it and remember all the times his hands of stone didnt' score a goal for the Rocket. Good to hear Hawesey is having a good year, wasn't happening here after a few years and it is now, c'est la vie.

were you old enough to go to the games by yourself a few years ago when they missed the playoffs entirely? ? They may be in last place right now but we can bet the farm it isn't cause they traded Tyler Hawes....

I've got a funny story about Hawes. My aunt and I were at one of the games last season, and the face-off was right in front of us, and Tyler was right there. Neway. She yelled really loud "TYLER HIT HIM" and then he pushed the guy and he fell XD It was so funny and awesome. Good god I miss him on the team. I miss like all of last season's players. Doesn't feel the same w/o most of them. Not the same intensity, nor the camaraderie.

Somehow I dont' think your aunt yelling to Hawes from the stands is the reason he pushed the guy.....feel free to think it but the story is not funny nor really interesting. While some of the players had comraderie on and off the ice, there were some with big attitudes and its good they are gone.
But I really don't think that Hawes was listening for a lady in the stands to tell him how to play his game.....

I never said he did it because she yelled it, I just thought the timing was hilarious.
