Depends on what Russell is thinking, if there's some talk about moving Meier which should be a big return for the youth movement then I wouldn't think of them moving their 1st round pick next year because this team could have issues scoring... They may still have scoring troubles with Meier. I wouldn't expect a high return for Meier. The whole being a Euro and the euro trade rules complicates his trade value. A young player and a pick I think is the likely return. If they get more then that good but I'm not expecting much more then this.

Impressive numbers, maybe a bit small (115lbs). He is only 14. That's the age of a grade 8. He can grow a lot from then till this time next year.

Willy Palov tweeted a few days ago the Mooseheads are basically still in a "sell mode". Fine by me.

Willy Palov tweeted a few days ago the Mooseheads are basically still in a "sell mode". Fine by me. Hope he is right. He did say Moose were going to take 2 imports before that draft saying they would see what happens when/if players return. He also had a article on the picks after, with a more to follow line, it was gone later with no follow up. It was about the same as a Moose website article at that time, you can read what you like about him not expanding on the situation. I suspect anything to add would likely get into sell issues that cannot be undertaken yet, I think assuming he is right is a good bet. As far as what happens at a draft a year away I think we just saw how players fall. Predicting Moose at mid pack could look like CB did this year, suprise, or not. I think the best direction is keeping options open and doing the best deal based on what Russell knows. If its sell then it could be like last year where the team has room for rookies except its forward this time. One player can make a big difference either way so its not just about return in trade. If CB had played like expected last year Moose lose more too. Have to consider division wins which based on paper could be worse than last year.

If the young player is going to be a front line guy and the pick is high then that's fine... I'll take quality over quantity easily at this point. My point being is one trade like Meier and the Moose are pretty certain to be a bottom five team and I wouldn't want to be moving their pick next year. Brassard, Donaghey... They have 3-5 potential guys to move to set themselves up for the next several years.

This board kind of took a left turn and we started talking about stuff that should go on the 2015-16 board. So here's my attempt at getting this back on track. Does anyone have any news or any inside info on Dachyshyn's decision to report or not? I saw him play a few times last year and have to say I really liked what I saw. At times I thought he out shined Bowers in the games. They didn't play on the same line but they both grabbed your attention when they were on the ice. Some times more so then the other, is what I'm saying here. The weird thing is he was only a ppg guy but every time I seen him he put up multiple point games. Anyways I hope he comes, I think his game is perfect for the Q.
Second what is the word on Blichfeld? Is he reporting too? He had alright numbers in the league he played in but the real question is how good is that league? Eliteprospect.com has him playing for Malmö this coming season. Has anyone heard anything about his style and type of player he is? Also Eliteprospect.com has him at 6'2 and the Q has him at 6' and a different name altogether.

"Dachyshyn's decision" ahahahaha But in all seriousness, yeah the kid is made for the Q. 6'4 and fast as they come. He actually holds the NS provincial record for JR boys 400m so apparently he is a fast runner too. Nowhere near Bowers anytime I watched the 2 players but I am a fan of Dachyshyn and think he could be a good bottom 6 player this upcoming season. Still very Raw but the tools are there. He's a late bday so a 2017 eligible for the draft too.

I don't have any inside information, but I'm fairly certain I remember hearing Dachyshyn's not reporting was based on ice time. He wasn't going to play much in Halifax last year.

From what I heard he wanted a guaranteed spot to attend camp and the Mooseheads couldn't offer that, so he left to preserve NCAA eligibility. I don't see that being an issue this year with us rebuilding so I hope to see him at camp.

I think Halifax likely wanted him to play another year in Midget too. He wasn't in a scoring role in his rookie season with the Macs and they probably wanted him to go back and work on his offensive game, which he did and his numbers reflected that. Like I said, he still has 2 seasons in the Q before he can be drafted into the NHL as he is a late 98 born. Overall, the extra year in midget was the best option for both himself and Halifax.

So he bought his own bridge tokens to go to Cole Harbour. You joke but your right. He went to CHP and practice and do on ice drills but couldn't play in exabition games or he would lose his NCAA eligibility. I have to throw something out there that I heard mid season about this situation. I will admit I was sort of fishing by starting this talk about Dachyshyn. Mid season I talked to someone who is very in the know about local hockey. The word on the street is he has concussion issues. The family wanted to make sure he was guaranteed education in case something happened. The rumour is he was thinking about going prep school this year to improve his chances for NCAA.
