I don't think the value is as high as some people hope it would be or in most cases should be - That being said I think CB will have to put something together soon or they will settle for #9 Overall. They could have gotten plenty more at the draft for the #4 pick than what they might end up with (#9) but that's the gamble they were willing to take I guess. Definitely a disappointment if they settle with getting the compensation pick, hard to believe SJ/Hali can't beat that value, but then again if its not significantly better than 9th overall value, I guess CB would just rather have Bowers out of the league if he won't report. Dubois - Bowers - Hoyt would've been fun to watch together. We'll also have lots of picks stockpiled still to target specific top players if we need to. (2 1sts, 3 3rds, 2 4ths and whatever prospects we want to deal from this years haul of picks)

Last I have heard Bowers and CB are very far apart, and Shane is willing to play for 3 teams (Hali, SJ, and Moncton) due to money. Personally I hope he ends up in the Q as it sucks to lose talent like that to the US at such a young age, especially when he is a NS kid drafted to a NS team. Here's to hoping a deal is made in the upcoming weeks.....

I am not at all surprised to hear that Bowers and CB are far apart. Just another example of a small market team being unwilling or unable to compete with the richer teams. I hope a deal can be reached and everyone comes out of this happy.

Most likely would play his way into the top 6 on a competitive team. Have to agree with jamesnorris on this one. CB post is absolutely awful. At least they could have shined light on the fact that dumont declined comment or something.

And how hard is it to get a comment out of Dumont even if it's a 'to us nothing has changed, see you in August at camp'?
Clearly something is up here. Not usually this much smoke if there's not a raging forest fire somewhere.
People in SJ are hearing names being tossed around. People here are hearing there's something being worked on.
Something like Highmore, Tessier, a 1st and 2nd is what i'm expecting as a return.

Agree with Jack Bauer, something must be up, things are too quiet. Why would the CB Post do a nice feature on Peyton Hoyt and not even a mention of the highly touted Bowers.

Not bad but I would prefer to see Bailey Webster instead of Tessier.

That seems like a pretty good return........doesn't it ? I think it's fair value in that it doesn't really touch their core but gives us a player in Highmore who can easily fit in our top 9 and improve it and gives us a good young player for the future in Tessier along with picks that we can use as currency at the trade deadline.

Not bad but I would prefer to see Bailey Webster instead of Tessier. I think you'd be very disappointed in that decision once you see the 2 players this season

Not bad but I would prefer to see Bailey Webster instead of Tessier. As a Sea Dogs fan, so would I. Webster is a year older and the Sea Dogs have too many defenseman right now it seems. I do think he'll have a much better year this year than last year, whether it be in SJ or somewhere else.

People have repeatedly said you have to give up something to get something, totally agree and bowers is definitely worth something but I cannot imagine the sea dogs trading that much for bowers. All along people have mentioned the sea dogs are set up better for next year than this year.... Well those same people should realize we are going need to draft picks to trade to fill holes, and I suspect tessier to be a pretty important piece for us next year. As a matter of fact next year I wouldn't be that surprised if tessier performs as well as bowers... So if anything maybe tessier and a 2nd for bowers. I'm not saying tessier is as good, but age means a lot in this league and tessier is the older player.
