...by Team Atlantic U17.
MacLean, Street, Waye and Manson all left off of the Team Atlantic U17 team.
Kind of shocking, as most Q drafted players are locks to make it.

I'd say it's shocking MacLean didn't make it since he is technically playing right now in the Q.. wouldn't consider it shocking the others weren't named

MacLean doesn't actually play, he dresses every now and again. As for the others, iguess some pposters don't know what this tourney is about. Great scouting as always!

I wouldn't say they were snubbed rather than the PEI scouting appears to be weak. They were invited to the process of making the team and they attended but did not qualify, they were not snubbed.

put it this way...the guy who actually named the team works for the sea dogs but langan didn't get invited. there's a reason why virtually all of our board were appalled to hear that Mr. Leland had been hired by the club.

If their were tryouts and Maclean never made the grade thats one thing. If their was not I agree with Bois and think Maclean should have been their.

Maclean hasnt did anything to really deserve a spot on the team this year has he? just cause he is a 1st rounder , that dont really mean much

There's a few kids on the team that were around for part and some not at all for the tryouts(Brown, Roskie). You can look at the site from past years and see that MacLean was MVP in the gold medal game at the Under 15's in Moncton, played with the u17 as a 15yr old in Moncton and led Major Midget in points up till Christmas in Nova Scotia as a rookie last year before getting into substantial penalty trouble and missing up to eight games..one for five in a row. The problem that I am hearing is that the real evaluation comes from how the kids we're progressing this season and MacLean hasn't seen any ice time. Street was ranked very high last year even playing for the Canada Games NFLD team as an underager. Randal was the other contender from NFLD, went in the second round and after Gilbert stepped down is now centering the 4th line and getting a fairly regular shift. I see that HFX is in 1st place with a few games in hand and Cape Breton is in 4th with a young team, playing their rookies. By the way, Langan had the most points in the tryout..for what it's worth...

I'm not sure about the other three but Manson wasn't interested in going out for their camp.

He was good enough to make a Q team and no disrespect but he is head and shoulders better than the forward picked from PEI. Is their some rule where you have to take so many from every province.

Yea...minimum three from each Province...I don't think that any other team at the U17's has to deal with this issue??

This story gets interesting word at the rink last night that Rocket scout and Team Atlantic head coach has felt the wrath of the Savards. Word is that Ken MacDougall has been fired by the Rocket, becasue he didn't select the Rocket players. Kinda of a childish move.
