Was it not Mathieu Tousignant that got Main to snap he does it all the time he's an instigator and he can score goals to boot just one of them guys ya like to have on your team but hate him anywhere else he constantly gets under players skin. He did the same thing the night before here in Saint John.

Well said, Brewsky......BC are now third in the west...they didn't get there by being "p****es". BC are a skilled hockey team that PLAY hockey. I would say Doyle's ego has taken over. He will soon learn that his ego isn't going to get him anywhere. I too feel he is overrated in this league. I also agree with the fact that some of our top players will be gone at Christmas. The Rockets problems started when they didn't deal Bonneau, Bureau and Lappi at trade deadline. these guys were on their way out and we could have gotten a good return for them from a contender. I'll never figure out why the Rocket hung onto them. The Rockte needed to start re-building for the following year and for whatever reason decided not too.

How can an entire hockey team consistently play so lousy? 1. Lack of talent. 2. Poor coaching - already addressed, we think? 3. Players not buying into system. 4. Lack of motivation. 5. Too much time off between games. On another note, if the Rocket are hosting local press people at the games, would it be asking too much to have one of them write an article (in English) on the game and post it in the Rocket News. Instead of quoting an article from the RDS!

I've been told that Marty's been getting the idea he's going home. That they don't want him anymore. I'm sure its hit hard on his ego and confidence. I think most of the teams confidence has discintegrated since the coaching switch. Latal would never just be sent home. He is to much talant and speed Maybe being traded or something but sent home na that is false. And on a side note.. No bc didnt have to fight or anything but they should have. Being all that talk in the warm up and no action they will not back up there words. That paul guy or what ever his name is #2 never shut up the whole warm up But when gallant challenged him he backed down and went running with his tail between his legs. Yes our team was embarrassed and yes the fans were to but These players from Bc are the joke here. What happened tonight they really brought it on them selfs. Yes Main went a little over board with the slash and the shoving. But proved a point. Now if they did that at the first of the period maybe just maybe the Bc players would have been scared cause buddy on the ice looked pretty scared when he got up. He wanted nothing to due with main. As for gallant i am sure he will get a game or so. but that will be it. Game over Case closed bring on the Eagles lol See how that game goes. Oh dear lol GO ROCKET GO Yeah, Marty's not going as far as I'm concerned. But he was thinking that a while ago. and by home I meant off the Rocket And thanks for agreeing with me about the fights! Everyone else seemed to get all uptight on me. Yeah though, we should have done it all in the first, get it going off right royally. and for everyone who said that we hve bad character.. I'm so sorry that I happened to be the only one who doesnt think their shit dont stink. . . I'm sorry you think Im bad character, but that's ok. Because ur oppinon of me doesn't matter. DIdn't think I'd get such negativity after I posted somethingn I wrote when I was completely hyper from the game and the night. Sorry for all I "offended" ha. Ha. Ha.

Just getting frustrated with the consistantly rotten play. We are in last place just where we belong. Hopefully things will turn around. Savard has all but destroyed this team, hopefully he will leave the managing to Guy but we shall see

this schedule and the play we've been seeing is going to make selling tickets a very tough chore.. several weeks between home games... this week there was no games anywhere at all...and then come out flat again and fall down 3-0... then for those who dont like the goon tactics we have the Gallant-Main show when the score is very much decided... wouldn't wanna be marketing this squad right now wallee.. the pp sucks because we have poor passing skills.... and nobody to man the point that controls things.. that isnt the coaches fault.... we didnt blame yannick for that either been a month now.. last nights game aside i still think improvements have been made... wonder why washington didnt hire Yannick

no question the problem is poor skills. i have said this all along. and guy will not do any better than yannick with what he has. thats what i had been saying.
and selling tickets, you are bang on. what a tough job to sell tickets with the display we saw last night.
i dont know where this is all going but it appears its going in the wrong direction ...and fast.
i went last night all hyped up hoping for a exciting game and left plenty early...5:23 left totally disgusted. try to sell season tickets that way... hmmm

I was all hyped about the game last night too - been looking forward to it for three weeks, especially since the game in Moncton last Saturday, Rocket tuque, Rocket jersey, brisk walk to The Morgue.....we went in, and then it was all downhill.
18-minute wait in the Tim's lineup, even though it wasn't busy - they need ADULTS working behind the counter, not kids! The Tim's lineup makes the box office set-up look good.
Then a guy is sitting in my seat in Sec 17 when I arrive, and when advised of that, he says "Well you can sit over there!", pointing down the row to his left - I don't think so.
One minute after the game starts, people in throngs (mostly the national anthem crowd) start arriving during the play and stand at the bottom of the section, blocking our view for minutes on end - when someone tells them to sit down, one of those I'm-a-social-worker-I-know-better-than-you types says "They're just kids, you know!"
Then one of the kids sits behind me and starts blowing his horn right in my ear, when nothing at all is happening on the ice.
Then Baie Comeau scores 3 goals in 3 minutes, but it's at the other end, so I see nothing.......people are standing in the aisle, anyway.
Then people arrive in the front row, 10 minutes late, all bearing fries with gravy, or cheese with nachos, stinking up the place and blocking my view again.
Then, to celebrate the 3-0 deficit, the kid behind me blows his horn in my ear - again! - I tell the kid that he'd better not do that again, or he might be wearing his horn around his neck before the period is over....my wife elbows me in the chops, and I settle down.
Fine, frigging first period of fun!
I move to the Zamboni end, where no one much cares about the game, as always, and I have peace and quiet for the rest of the game....nothing happening on the ice, except for some God-awful ill-conceived between-period promotions that fall flat, and nothing happening off the ice......the houseplants are all quiet.
....till the last two minutes, when Main gives a BC player a two-hander, and Gallant tries to start a fight -again - and ends up shoving a linesman
I guess Main and Gallant were trying to protect our superstars, I dunno - I also don't care, hockey stupidity is hockey stupidity, and it was much in evidence last night.
Then I get home and get to read about how "Main went a little overboard", and the BC players are "Homos".
Other than the play of Kana, Lachaine and Locke last night, nothing good to say about the Rocket's performance.
It was hell at The Morgue last night.

Now that I think about it.....it could very well be a combination of all five!
How can an entire hockey team consistently play so lousy? 1. Lack of talent. 2. Poor coaching - already addressed, we think? 3. Players not buying into system. 4. Lack of motivation. 5. Too much time off between games.

A tough night at the rink, but my expectations for now are more on trying to see signs of improvement within our team rather than dominating a team that is playing good hockey.
Although I was frustrated by our inability to get things going I think the team is making progress, but during the transition I had hoped Lafleur would steal a few for us but that does not seem to be in the cards.
The team is trying to open up the play and pass the puck. As a result we're gonna see more turn overs until our game picks up. It's a big change from simply heading for the boards and chipping and digging along the boards. The guys have to adjust and find the seams and the man with the puck has to trust that the forward is going to head for the seam and pass the puck where he's going. This requires a huge mental shift from a very narrow focus to one where you have to be conscious of where everyone is and where they are likely going.
We still don't have confidence yet to trust that the guys are actually heading to an opening and that little pause is enough to have passes knocked down, or end up behind the man as he passed through the seam. On the bright side the team is working on a system that incorporates both player and puck movement. I'll take that over what I watched the last two years knowing we're in a development mode.
The other thing that needs work is discipline. We took our share of undisciplined penalties, at least 4 came against #21, who took a dive if someone looked at him. The refs were as bad as I've seen this year, but they were making bad calls both ways.
I think there are more trying times in store so as Willie Shakespear said Patience Perforce.

I sit down at the zamboni end, you saying that I didn't care about the game? Perhaps you should tell that to my kids who sit there with me with their Rocket jerseys and hats cheering for them even when the game is boring and the team is playing poorly. On another thread you were going on about cheap shots and cynical remarks, but yet you do it on here. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Can someone of the opinion please tell me why they think BC "should have fought"? Back it up, guys.

Can someone of the opinion please tell me why they think BC "should have fought"? Back it up, guys. Up 6-2, BC had no reason to fight back........smart move on their part. The Rocket should have tried to get a scrap going when they went down 3-0 in the opening period.....not the final couple mins.

Nah, I didn't say that at all, you're taking it personally, and really, you shouldn't, it wasn't intended that way.....just taking out my frustrations after a thoroughly miserable evening at The Morgue. It's quieter at the Zamboni end - much quieter, and people are into the game a lot less - it happens every time I go to that end....which is why I went there last night, I'd had enough of my fellow fans....plus, I wanted to see the Rocket score at that end in the second period...I was still naive enough to think they would, and of course, they didn't. The rest is just for entertainment, so there's some exaggeration and caricatures involved - call it artistic license, of sorts - .....though all the stuff I mentioned DID happen. Just my own experience at the game, as usual.
