What a surprise this kid turned out to be on the blueline.
So solid.
I know that Main has been playing well for this team on the blueline, a great surprise......I just think that the team misses his energy that he can bring when he's up front.
Up front he goes 100% and hits EVERYTHING!! GREAT energy player.
Any chance that after the deadline that Main may be back up front, or do you think that he'll stick on the blueline?
Either way, as a Rocket fan, Im glad that Main is on this team!

Main has been very good on the blueline lately after struggling a bit to adjust when he first got dropped back there. I'd much rather him playing an energy role as a FW though, I think that's a more natural fit for him.
We basically need him on the point right now like you said Score, but perhaps we can add an experienced dman at the deadline and move him up. Just not another Swit please.

Main up front = More hits, More Energy = LOUDER Crowds= Higher Ticket sales at the CCC = Rocket more pumped up during the game = Winning Record

As much as I liked him up front, I like him even more on D, as he brings a little more stability, IMO. But I wouldn't be against moving him back up front if the Rocket were to get a good solid D-man at the trading period. As for more hits when he plays up front, Main had 4gh tonight against the Screaming Eagles

I can see Main being a useful 20 for us next year... with his intensity and versatility.
If we really sell the farm with 19's and 20's this year mostly gone, I'd definitely keep him around before Locke, Lachaine and Paynter.

Main is a very good as a D man. I really do miss his energy up front. But he is on the ice more as a D man and that is good to see. He is my favorite player on the team and I hope the Rocket keep him. He will make a great 20 year old. He can be used where he is needed. A solid blue liner or a great 3rd line energy player.

Main would be fine as a 20 next year.. I like him better on D as he gets more opportunity to play than as an energy forward...... plus he can pick his spots for the big hit a bit better

I imagine that some contending teams will be looking to aquire Main.
Should Savard keep him for next season as he will be a very useful 20yr old for us?
Main seems to be a great team guy, and will play any role that is asked to him.
I say, bring Mainer back next season.....love his game!

Right now I would have no problem with him back next season as a 20 yr old. The last couple of seasons Savard went with a 20 yr old on the blueline (Lommano last season & Swit this season) and I think that Main is a better option than those 2 were.
Wouldn't Gervais and Lessard be 20 yr olds next season? If they are going to be overage players next season and are in a Rocket uniform then, and depending on what Chouinard does between now and next season as far as trades, there could possibly be a numbers game as far as overage players, especially on the blueline.

One of the 3 will not be back
Lessard would have the best trade value ... but if we keep him past xmas I think you have to keep him next year as well
In that case I'd consider dealing Gervais
going with 3 overagers on the blueline is almost as bad as going with none

What I like about Main is he's tough -
...and I mean really T-O-U-G-H!
There's been a shortage of rugged players during the PEI Rocket's existence - I can think of Mealy, Lapierre, and perhaps a few others....I'm excluding goons, of course, because goons aren't real hockey players.
Main is about the last guy I'd trade away right now - seriously.
