I think the kid would be a good choice for Team Canada in the world junior championships. But they don't like the french players much, as they only take everybody from the WHL and OHL.

Not this season, maybe in a year or two. A player has to be exceptional to be considered at 17 years of age (like Stamkos or Tavares, for example).

And that's because the Q players are French? Are you sure it might not be because they're less talented as a whole?

I definitly agree, maybe in a year, the upside to him is amazing and as sade in another post under Guy he, as with alot of the players, are starting to show signs of development. Southorn has always had the tools and will only get stronger, hios stock will rise. I too also find it strange that so little Q players are selected, strange stat when looking at it and I don't think it has anything to do with skill level, more a political thing, nothing to do with french either I just think hockey Canada focuses on the west, don't understand, anyone have any insight please advise.
