MONTREAL - The slumping Montreal Canadiens called up forward Maxim Lapierre and defenceman Ryan O'Byrne from the Hamilton Bulldogs and shipped forward Mikhail Grabovski to their AHL farm team.
The 22-year-old Lapierre had 14 points and 63 penalty minutes in 19 games with Hamilton. He had six goals in 46 games with the Canadiens last season. The six-foot-five O'Byrne, 23, had eight points and was plus-4 in 18 games with the Bulldogs this season.
Grabovski made the Canadiens out of training camp, but played in only 12 games. He had one goal and one assist.
The Canadiens were expected to make changes after picking up just one victory in their last six games.
I am not a Montreal fan but good to see Lapierre get another shot

Hopefully Max will remember why he was sent to Hamilton at the start of the year....getting into Carbo's doghouse early on in training camp is what did it.
He's done his pennance and showed great results. Hopefully they'll put him on a line with Kovalev and Latendresse as I felt he had great chemistry last season with Guillaume and Alexei the Enigma. Or try him with Ryder to spark him.
Either way excellent opportunity for "Mad Max"....hope he stays up...he was a fav at the Phone Booth.

They aren't gonna split up Kovalev and Plekanec.. that's the only combination MTL has with any chemistry right now
Hope Max stays up for the year.... but won't be surprised to read in a couple weeks time he is heading back down to Hamilton
Habs have too many 3-4 liners.. Guy was right.. Max doesn't change that.. only adds another body to the already too crowded mix
