Did anyone think there was 2000 at CC tonight? As bad as it looked, to make it worse it was also season ticket holders redemption night, which means many of the few were freebies. Good to get the W regardless. Maybe Serge shoud try a few games through out the season at the new buiding in Summerside? food for thought for next year maybe.

Very disappointing crowd....but I'm guessing some didn't want to travel in the snow tonight. The S'Side issue is not even worth discussing.......it's a dead topic. I would expect to see a solid crowd on Friday.

Why would he do that? They can't Move again the League Won't Let them for one and the rocket are better off in Charlottetown Summerside can't Hold a Q team.

Tonights attendance
in Lewiston 2000
in Gatineau 2100
I'd say that given the Rocket's performance this season (and previous seasons, too) 2000 fans tonight is acceptable.
These 2000 people are the die-hards.
The team has to WORK on and off the ice to fill the rest of the rink.
By the way, the Moncton/PEI game tonight was pretty good.
Excellent goaltending.
Solid work by both teams.
Good officiating, too

The game was supposed to be last night. I am sure a few people that could go last night were not able to tonight. They may of had plans or had to work etc. I was able to work my shift around it and got to the game. I am glad I did because I really enjoyed the game. The major loss on Sunday probably turned a few people away. They really need to put a solid effort forth in all their games now. When they put in a good 60 minutes of hockey and are working hard it is great to watch. I think the crowd will be better Friday night. There will be some people that want to see the 1st round pick Jakob Voracek.

What's your definition of a solid crowd?
The attendance in Charlottetown has literally been going down by the game.
Do the fans just no longer want to support Major Junior hockey?

Isn't anyone interested in the fact that they actually played a pretty good game last night and all four lines contributed something to the game. The coach should go with the same lines for Friday night's game. On the "fan support" issue, this is the minimum number of fans they can attract, based upon the team's performance. The Rocket needs their marketing team to find other ways to attract a bigger a fan base. i.e.(video replay screens and a better venue)

a different venue and the same team performance will not bring in any more fans, except maybe the first two games so people can look at the new rink. the only way more people are going to come is if the team is better and the whole product is more exciting. that is a few years off imo.
us die hard supportors will continue to go.

I think the fact that like 3500 Islanders still didn't have power, traveling wasn't great and the game had been delayed all probably had something to do with the fact the crowd was so terrible. It was one of the smallest crowds i've seen at the CCC in a long time.
First time for the ticket redemption seemed to not be much of a success but probably not on the part of the Rocket. On a side note, i exchanged some tickets yesterday as part of the redemption offer and asked about Walk Up Wednesday...first the girl said well its Thursday so its not offered so when I said actually it's Wednesday....she said that the Walk Up Wednesday wasn't coming up on the screen....not a big deal, just kinda found it funny.
Boring game for the most part, and I would be shocked if there were actually 2000 bodies in those seats last night....oh well.
Didn't see Serge hanging out in the Rocket box last night, wonder if he was at the rink.

As I mentioned in a different thread I don't think the team played all that well. They held on for a win against a team that is struggling as much as we are.
As for fan support it has been sliding steadily for the past three years. I can not see fan support improving unless the team makes some real progress. We should get some sense after the trade period what the Coach is planning.
I like the idea of rebuilding. I don't like the half assed fix to pick up a couple players that may give us enough punch to get to the middle of the pack and maybe through one round of the playoffs. The latter might be needed to put more fans in the seats this season and help the club financially for the short term.

First time for the ticket redemption seemed to not be much of a success A friend went in yesterday afternoon to redeem some tickets and apparently he had to have his own ticket for last night's game with him as well as the tickets he wanted to redeem. His name is printed on the ticket, he offered to show his drivers license. Was that good enough? No. He was sent up to the Rocket office to stand around for a while then one of the staff came down and sorted it out. Its the first time for a promotion and there are gonna be bugs but that seemed ridiculous.

that didnt' happen to me at all, just had to present the tickets that hadn't been used and they wrote on them which new seats had been assigned, put them in a pile and printed out two new tickets with COMP on them.

There wasn't 2000 people there thats for sure
I'm not gonna bother commenting on the CCC staff and the fact most "promotions" this team puts on seem half-assed and non prepared.....
The game was ok.... nothing special.. the old rivalry with Moncton doesn't seem alive anymore... two struggling teams plugging along.. officiating was good and the tending was very solid
oh and I don't think Voracek will be here Friday.. but not sure why he'd be a draw anyhow.. it's not like we haven't seen him light us up a half dozen times already

For what it's worth, I still think that 2000 fans for a team that's sitting low in the standings is still well above and beyond any of the other draws had that played at the Civic Centre over the years. When the Abbies were good the place was packed, when they weren't doing well, you'd do good to see 500 people at the rink.
Panthers were the same, place was only ever packed during playoff runs and never would attract anywhere's near 2000 fans during the reg season.
Sens were the only ones who came close, but they had a season or two where they were doing well, the likes of Steve Larouche and Michel Picard kept fans coming...but the season before they left, numbers dwindled well below 2000 if i do so recall.
We're on pace with the rest of the Q. We don't necessarily have the punch we've had other seasons, and it was a rescheduled game. I don't think it's something to get worried about or something that warrants playing games abroad. Be nice if 2000 fans could still sound like 3500...ha...riiight....actually had to ask if people were alive during the tire roll
