I realty can't see the Rocket trading Lessard. One of the many complaints of people on this forum is the Rocket are weak on defense. Why would they trade away their #1 D man for which there are good chances he will be back next year as a 20 year old. Lessard is presently in the top five for points for D man, top five for goals and near the top ten for Good hits for D man. If were going to try and improve our defence, who are we going to get to replace Lessard and at what price?

The reason for trading Lessard and the only reason for trading him is the fact there simply aren't many 19 y/o d on the market therefore we could get a tremendous return for him.... obviously if we can't get such a return there is no reason to deal him at all

As much as I don't want to see Morrison go, I see no problem in trying to sell for a better road in the next few years... I have no qualms seeing Lessard go. It would be nice to get a few new defenseman in the mix and while Lessard is steady, he is by no means a speedster and his lack of speed can get him in some bad situations.. |

could they be rethinking, after their succesful road trip? i would be in no rush to trade morrison. wait and see what offers come in for him, no need to take first one, he is a bargaining chip.

Possible they hold him.. the longer the trade period goes and Halifax loads up, the more a Quebec team will pay to get him... That said, I thought Cliches was the bargaining chip.. I thought the offers would come fast and furious. Some team must want to get him before he slips through the cracks and another team lands him.  |

I am sure (at least I hope) there will be some trades made as it's only the first day, the Morrison trade from last year wasn't announced the first day either. Lots of time yet.
