Ok I'll try to do this in a somewhat suspensful fashion, like an actual all-star introduction would be. I said that the top 20 vote getters would be named to the team. I'll also name a starting line up (top 6) and a top vote getter. To determine both the final reserve and the final spots in the starting lineup, I needed to use a tiebreaker (most votes cast by fellow all-stars). In all, 31 people voted... I was hoping for a lot more, but hey, it's probably on par percentage-wise with some student union elections.

In brackets will be the amount of votes the person received.

First off, I'll start with those who shall be injury replacements! (IE, those who lost the tiebreaker for the final spot on the team.) Our honourable mentions, with 8 votes each, go to Penguins23 & Canucklehead.

I have to say that while I was disappointed in the lack of votes, I had fun it and a lot of people voting did too, as quite a few funny comments were sent along with votes that I had a chuckle reading. I think this was defintely something that was more a fun little exercise than an actual reflection of who the best posters are, but I don't regret doing it.

Interesting to see that so many different posters got votes. Good work brec and I really do hope this becomes an annual event with even more people voting next year.

I guess he should have been... this was supposed to be for posters with active accounts only. I actually did try to make sure that all the votes were legitimate... I think the reason the porkchop vote snuck through was because the person voting didn't have 20 people on their ballot, and they did have another Bathurst person- ie, me asking them to remove porkchop wouldn't have affected the rest of his/her vote.

Like Make said, it's an encouraging sign that even with a relatively small # of voters, a LOT of different people got votes. Makes it a bit more interesting anyway. I think special kudos has to go to CJD/LaLa/Gman for making it with such high totals given that a LOT of posters were considered from Halifax. Also Moncton fans can be happy as they sent the most posters to this team, oddly enough in a season where they finished last! Of course this is all very unscientific.

It just goes to show that there are a wide array of opinions on who is a good poster........... now, if I had only been born with a different name, maybe I wouldn't have alienated 50% of the voting pool ...... So I guess deer is the starting goaltender... good thing, because I heard he is FULL OF CONFIDENCE. I certainly hope he isnt too fast for da ligue though!

I'd also like the coach to shuffle the lines a bit. There is a division in the dressing room, and I refuse to play with a newf or a caper...

Of course, IMO, bois is a legit starter anyway because I definitely think my own vote total was pumped up by being the one counting the ballots. Don't get me wrong; I'm sure the people that voted for me thought I was a good poster. But when I picking MY vote I deliberated between a few different people, and I'm sure some others just picked off of the top of their head and deliberated also. If a poster like, say, habh8er, thinks equal of me & Smiley (random example), I might end up getting a vote over Smiley because he can't forget me, because I'm the one he's sending the ballot to! That being said I think I got in by enough votes that I'd have definitely been an all-star without hosting it ... just not a starter ;D

I should also add that I was PRAYING when recounting the votes that the tiebreaker would settle it, because I had no backup tiebreaker.


Anyway.... hearing some disension in the ranks with CJD's comments... we'd better knock it off, or we'll never win our game against the Radoter all-stars.
