I've said it before and I'll say it again, Tmej is a dime a dozen goalie. You can find guys his caliber every year playing Jr. A or Major Midget. There's nothing he's shown me that makes me believe he can be a guy to give you 25-30 games. I think the jury is still out on that ... he showed some promise at 17, and you have to remember that the team in front of him was horrid - the quality of chances he faced was ridiculous - hard to say what he is at this point (same goes for Waite for that matter). Like most young goalies, he has some holes in his game - but if he manages to improve a bit, it is not inconceivable that he turns out to be a decent goalie in this league. This season should tell the tale. A lot of 17 year olds are MAAA starters or Jr.A back ups at 17, so Tmej is ahead of that curve. If he keeps improving he can be a Q starter at 19 or 20.

I think that is a possible outcome ... but I think the range of possible outcomes is pretty wide in his case - he could also be in Jr A by Xmas. Last year was a tough one to get a read on how good or bad our goalies might have been. Carey Price would have looked bad behind that defense.

It also works the other way, at times, the young goalies were hard on the D with bad rebounds and weak goals. The two go hand in hand.

No doubt - like I said, hard to figure out whether it is the goalie that is bad, the D that is bad or both when the team is that weak ... 2017/18 should bring clarity on what exactly Tmej and Waite are or aren't ...
