Well another loss..... I think Mr. Irving should bag skate the Wildcats coaches and scouts Monday. May b have Ted Nolan and Tom Coolen run the drill, I think there in the area....... shouldn't BE TO BIG A FINE.. Oh...and give the cats players a day or two off...they deserve it...

So now it's the coaches and the scouts' fault. Priceless.

Since starting 8-1-2, they have gone 5-13-1 the last 19 games(11 of 38 points) since October 15th.
That puts them near the bottom with SJ and Shawinigan if you play at that pace the rest of the way...

I watched the game on TV and seen the attempted check, but Dunda did not put his leg out that I could see They were saying a dirty hit indefinite suspension, and that’s not what I seen.

That term "indefinite" confuses everybody and makes them think it is going to be a long suspension. All it means is that the league has not yet reviewed it and the player cannot play until they have looked at it and assessed an appropriate sentence.

That term "indefinite" confuses everybody and makes them think it is going to be a long suspension. All it means is that the league has not yet reviewed it and the player cannot play until they have looked at it and assessed an appropriate sentence. It is an example of poor translation - the term "indefini" in French has a slightly different meaning than indefinite does in English, even though it is a literal translation - the French term, in context, would be closer to what we call "to be determined" in English - it stands to reason that plenty of plays that merit suspension end up being worth one or two games ... it is a minority of suspensions, albeit the ones that end up being high profile, that end up being longer. I suspect the indefinite suspension announcements, especially those made on weekends, are typically linked directly to penalty codes on the game sheet - if the ref assigns a certain code to an infraction, an automatic suspension follows of at least one game, so the press release is issued saying it is indefinite ... allows them to make sure the player is out for the next game, especially when the team is playing again the next day, and allows the league office time to have a look and determine what if any additional sanction beyond one game is appropriate. Normally buys them the weekend unless something happens on a Friday night involving a player scheduled for a 3 in 3, in which case they need to figure out prior to Sunday pm whether or not the player is looking at 2 or more games ...

You expected this didn’t you? Because I did Yes and no. I expected them to be better than they are right now. Right now the Wildcats are just 7 points ahead of the cellar dwelling Sea Dogs with a road series coming up. As this page has said several times, the Wildcats are a middle of the pack team however play as of late suggests that target is in a precarious situation. Hopefully this slide can be arrested so the team won’t head in the direction latter part of last season. That has to be a worry, especially going into new facility.

I am not worried about next year at all. Outside of Welsh and Tessier (and Grametbauer), our top players are 18 and under. We have no 19 yo Dmen ... and have been playing with two OAs and one Euro ... two empty impact slots. Our two other 19 yo forwards are in supporting roles. People were easily fooled by our quick start ... but now we are playing down at the level where we were expected to through the off-season ... lower half of the league ... maybe a lottery pick. We are built to be strong next year when we will be loaded with 19 yo. We aren't as bad as our last 10 games show, and not as good as our first 10 games showed. If Shannon is smart ... he'll make a few deals in the upcoming trade period to strengthen our D for next year. Take on a 19 YO Dman at the draft for Welsh (+). Consider offers for Grametbauer (his numbers have taken a hit) ... and maybe shop Tessier with a return geared for next year.

Maybe the Cats will win the draft lottery this year. Wouldn’t that be something? It would be something for Sherbrooke anyway.
