Entering round 6, when do we expect the first American to be drafted? Is it going to be later than usual because of the new American draft? Next Monday!

Per JF Plante Why does the Q allow this Mickey Mouse shit to go on? Either allow them to make trades with ALL conditions clearly laid out to protect all parties or don't let this kind of stuff to linger. But this "handshake" stuff of certain GM's making promises that teams won't honor makes the entire league look like a joke. What is there to investigate at this point? There is either a black and white condition in a trade or there is not. Was the same thing with Abramov a few years back. Zero reason for any of this stuff being an issue outside of the fact that the league refuses to clean up its business for some reason That's crazy. These trades/agreements need to be sent into the league on paper or they simply don't exist imo. Makes the league look terrible. It's not like it's a difficult policy to enforce.

Now that we know that the Maritimes will remain one Division , looking at all the teams, it will be a very tough Division to battle in.

so in your guys opinions who were the draft winners/losers?
I think Chicoutimi came out pretty big getting their 1/2 punch of the future at center. SJ has also started a nice foundation.

I agree with Saint John. Three top defensemen (Villeneuve, Poirier, DesRoches). They will need league approval if any other 16 year olds crack their roster for the 2018/2019 season. Chicoutimi struck gold with Lapierre and Rochette but they could've done better with their other picks. Shawinigan and Val d'Or did VERY good. Yesterday was easily Moncton's most successful draft in recent memory. Many Wildcats posters will agree.

No a single player has played a game in the league as of now. Can there even be winners and losers? fair enough, just going based off players picked and their potential, and trades made Just an example... 2010 Draft Chicoutimi had 3 picks in the 1st round, 2 in the 2nd round. They ended up taking 3 of the best d-men (including the best ranked) and 2 top forwards. They never really did much with that group. Only Hudon became a real top player for them but they ended up trading him at his peak at 19 to start another rebuild. Val D'Or drafted Anthony Mantha in the 5th round in 2010 and won the Cup in 2014 thanks to him. Which team won the draft between those two? I'm pretty sure just after the draft many were saying wow Chicoutimi will be so stacked! They totally won the draft...

Thanks for raining on my parade Seeing the Seadogs bag 3 top rated defensemen & then hearing that Lawrence has also agreed to come, + having the first overall pick in the Euro draft, I'm hoping for a few more great years in Seadogs land on the horizon...

When you add Deroches and if Lawrence signs they have a solid core to build around. This will be a good one to follow for the next few years, Seadogs two D vs Chicoutimi's two forwards.
