5-1 win!
That's a second win already in the second half of the season. One more than last season.
Huge game from Jeremy McKenna. He moves into 6th in league scoring. With a strong game Tuesday against Halifax, he could jump up to 2nd.

Mckenna looked dominant out there today. He's taken his game to another level. Created a ton of scoring chances on his own including on the PK. Him & Pataki together on the PK was very dangerous.
Khovanov had a few nice moments, made some great saucer passes in the zone and was strong on the puck. He'll have to watch his discipline. Too bad he didn't convert that chance when he was alone in front. Would have been a nice moment for him. Its important to remember this guy is essentially still in training camp so need to temper expectations (difficult on this board) in regards to production. Barbashev took 9 games to score his first goal as a Cat as a 17 year old, Khovanov already has 1.
Sylvestre made a few mistakes but made a few nice defensive plays as well. Quite the moment near the end of the 3rd he got a misconduct and tried to get at the Sea Dogs bench by coming back around the barrier in the hallway. Reminded me of games 10-15 years ago. I'm sure fans will appreciate the toughness he brings.

How'd Pelletier fair against Burt ? It wasn't really a fight, McKenna took a hard hit & Pelletier started shoving the player who hit him, Burt was about 8 feet from him, tossed his gloves and jumped Pelletier and started throwing punches while he was down, which is why he got an aggressor.

Nice to see Miromanov score another one too.. looking better each game Miromanov started at wing and Seitz started on D. Then when Seitz got tossed 10 seconds into the game for the staged fight he moved back to D. I'm not sure if that was planned or not, or if they were planning to keep him at forward all game...? Why would they start Seitz at D just for that?

McKenna has been the Cats breakout player of the year and it's not even close. He's had some big games against top teams as well this season, so he's not just doing it against the SJ's of the league.
We've certainly come a long way from certain posters complaining about the lack of production from the 17 year old's last year. McKenna and Cyr have both progressed nicely and Capannelli appears to be getting going as well after coming back from injury.
This is a very good group of forwards that should be even better next season.

Incredibly selfish behaviour on the part of Reginato and Seitz. I can't imagine either coach was overly pleased. If they wanted to fight so badly they could have easily waited a bit to avoid the staged fight penalty.

This is what happens when fans jump to conclusions on 17 year old rookies less than one month into their first season.

I don’t remember anything really bad happening last game that set this fight up either Seitz shot a puck towards the Sea Dogs end in warmup then Reginato shot a puck directly at him as he skated away then they chatted at centre ice. Its really confusing to me how the players dont understand the staged fight rule, its not new anymore.

Not surprised when I saw what had happened, even without knowing about the warmup.
