I'll predict a high scoring game. Moncton's PP will have a breakout game.
6-4 Wildcats.

The WORST officiated game at the coliseum this year and it wasn’t even close. I mean I do not complain about the sub par officiating we have in this league, I accept it for what it is, but That was a farce.
Hopkins show! And Welner didn’t call one penalty tonight except the 2 and 10 on khovanov at the end after he missed the two Blatent trips in the same sequence. Khovanov was frustrated, that is 100% on Welner, call the fucking penalty and that doesn’t develop little twerp piece of shit. I’m sure I heard the rempart fans chanting GO Hopkins GO!!!!
Man what a frustrating game, blood was boiling tonight, I would have loved to see someone actually lay daddy’s boy on his ass for real and earn the two min penalties they were giving us all night when he flails to the ice

Moncton played like garbage. They deserved to lose.

Moncton played like garbage. They deserved to lose. I will meet you halfway. I feel like the officiating took the flow totally out of the game.i see Rumbles comments already saying we were tired and outworked. I feel like we went toe to toe in the first 20 min, had a bad start tit the second and had brutal puck luck on goal 4 and 5. I will even give you another example, what the hell was our bench minor for in the third? Chirping? Rumble? If so why the hell did Hopkins give Boucher senior not one but two whistle warnings after Boucher junior took his penalty post goal and coach chirp steady for two sequences and got two reminders with no penalty. The out of nowhere we get a minor in the thrid. How about the extra stick work on Mckenna along the boards after the initial hit? Mcgregor with two to three cross checks right in front of Welner with no call, then Campanelli takes a roughing onBouchee juniorwho falls like a deck of cards in a strong wind It was a side show out there. Tired or not how the hell do you build any momentum in that one sided environment.

Horrible performance. Really disappointing when it looked like they might be able to get on a bit of a roll and string some wins together. Not sure why they were "tired". Did no one sleep well last night?
Completely outworked on the shift at the end of the first where Quebec took the lead and it was all downhill from there. The usual barrage of odd man rushes allowed was in full effect yet again. The real highlight was the third Quebec goal where Dajcar walked into the slot untouched with Anderson MacDonald standing in the net. I don't love the +/- stat, but stuff like that would explain why he's second worst in the league.
The Cyr line was the only one that looked interested in competing tonight. Otherwise lots of passengers out there.
For me the officiating had zero impact on the outcome of the game, however...
Hopkins and Welner were a complete embarrassment in the third period. They clearly didn't like being questioned by the Cats bench and then proceeded to blatantly ignore some obvious infractions against them. They might want to check their egos at the door next time. Neither must have any ambition of moving on to a higher level because they never will with a display like that.

My view. Wildcats deserved their loss on this one, at 13.25 time third period score 5-2, Moncton took an undisciplined bench minor, Rumble chased the ref back and forth on the bench yelling couple of times, perhaps more. Not sure if that set it off or one of the players got real runaway mouth anyway it cost. Up to that point in the third I thought Cats were playing not terrible but a tad shaky and just may have been able to score, then is 5-3 and half period is left and 2 goals is not an impossible task. Anyway it never got to that, officials are not gonna take shit and abuse from the bench.

Hopkins told him to settle then blew the whistle and gave the “that is enough gesture after coming back from the time keeper area and then a second whistle as teams were lining up for face off where he actually went over to talk to Boucher. Is he a psychiatrists trying to calm the situation or will he flex his testicular power to both benches and call a minor to both when the time is fitting. It was a ridiculous example of inconsistency that plagues the officials and makes it tough to play. You watch a stick get whacked out a ha d and it’s a slash then you see a stick broke from slashing and there is no call. You watch Capannelli get a roughing minor for running into Boucher leaving the zone but McKenna hits MacLeod and MacLeod gives him three or four cross checks right in front of Welner with no call.

I agree that the refs had nothing to do with the loss. The score was 4-2 Remparts after the 2nd period and the penalty calls were 2-2 at that point.
MacDonald threw a lot of cold water on a potential comeback at 0:18 of the 3rd period with a needless penalty in the offensive zone. You could tell by the body language of the players that any comeback attempt was over as a result.

Well each bench(not to forget fans of both) will complain of inconsistency on calls, so from that side it is a zero-sum game. I don’t subscribe to the “offficials are the reason we lost because they were against us” but hey, your views are yours and certainly entitled to express them. Cheers

Cheers Oh I am not debating the Wildcats effort, one way or another. My post is strictly related to the officials. The wildcats could lay an egg in the game or they could dominate a game, I am just tired of sub par officiating. I don’t want them to be perfect but we pay damn good money and it isn’t to watch them on a power trip or to show embarrassing grudges or whatever you call it. It really isn’t too much to ask for consistency. Tonight you give Phelan a penalty in front of the net for cross checking, fine he deserved it. However it wasn’t 5 shifts later that the exact same thing happened at the other end ( too far to see the Cape Breton #) where after tthe whistle he crossed checked one of our guys on top of the goalie and there was no call. These plays are identical. If you are going to set the precedent just follow through, it’s a penalty call it. seitz had a penalty coming at the end of the third for what I am assuming is a charge, ref had his arm up, so he was getting a minor. Then Hoyt tries to get him to fight and they call them both for a 10min misconduct??? Seitz has a minor coming and Hoyt should have got his unsportsmanlike for dropping gloves by they just change the calls. It is a just shift show and affects the game. It certainly isn’t getting better, it’s getting worse, Melancon, Hopkins etc
