Here’s the situation:
Patrick Thoresen holds the records for most points in a season by a rookie with 73.
Jakob Pelletier needs 26 points in the final 16 games to tie. 27 to break.
Will he do it?

That would be a large feat for this young man at 16

Is most points by a 16 year old Steve Berniers 59? He should be able to take that one

Update:
Pelletier sitting at 55 points. I don’t think he will beat Thoresen’s record.
Only needs 5 points in the final 7 games to be the highest scoring 16 year old in franchise history.

I'm trying to think of the current NHL players we had at 16 and the only name I can come up with is Brad Marchand. He is currently listed at 5.09, the same as Pelletier. Marchand had 29 points in his rookie season with us at 16 including 9 goals in 61 games according to HockeyDB.com. I know Pelletier probably has more top 6 ice time but his 20 goals and 55 points so far in 53 games are not too shabby for a rookie 16 yr old. Not since Gormley have we had such an impact 16 yr old.
I know Barbashev was 16 when he started but he was considered a 17 yr old because of a late birthday.
It would be nice to see Pelletier break Bernier's record for points.
