John Moore @rinkrant
After a month of hearing rumours the @sjseadogs are for sale, lets set the record straight. The ownership group has NO interest in selling the franchise at this time ... none! There may be internal changes within the organization but the @qmjhl team is not for sale at this time

That’s good news! We have an excellent ownership group that want to win.

I never heard such a rumour before this. While any owner could decide that it is a good time to sell, the Seadogs franchise won't be leaving Saint John anytime soon as they are constantly in the Top 5 of attendance.

You would be shocked at the number of folks that have asked me if I heard that Gerard Gallant and Jonathan Huberdeau were buying the team.

What amazing journalists we have...here there was a month long rumor about an important franchise potentially being for sale and we only hear of it after the fact?

No matter what league, province, or country, whenever a team is having a terrible season, there are rumours that the team is for sale.
Sea Dogs have great attendance levels, a very nice facility, not to mention a strong ownership base.
Don’t see this team being sold, unless the ownership got a price they couldn’t refuse!

Neither myself nor the person I heard it from had any idea if there was any truth to it or not. Perhaps they were/are simply looking to buy into the ownership group if one or more of the minority owners were looking to sell some or all of their share, or maybe there is nothing to this at all. I can't say I'd be terribly disappointed if those 2 did become owners.

So I'm sure that Gerrard Gallant sitting beside a minority owner in the crowd last night during the NHL All Star break, virtually as far away from Las Vegas as you can be will absolutely kill any further rumours....

Don't think Rick Buckingham is an owner, but a member of the Board of Directors.

There is only one Sea Dog owner. I remember reading an article in the Globe & Mail a few years ago that Scott McCain owned 75% & 5 local minority owners (including Wayne Long) had the other 25%. That may have changed, & I don't know the minority owners names, but my understanding from folks who talk like they know of what they speak, 1 is a dentist in town & another owns a real estate franchise in KV. I'm sure lot's of people know their names, I do not & doubt I'd recognize the names even if I were told them.

Scott owns the team, three posters on the Dogs board have been telling Titan fans that our team is being sold, but they got screwed last year . If Scott sells the team team rest assured that it will be to a group of owners that will commit to staying in the city. Contrary to what a few “ Dogs”fans say, three years and the Mem Cup should be back in Saint John, and the Year after in just very well might be back in Titanland, the smallest fan base in the CHL., and this could happen without a carte blanche. Not Jack Bauer , good job,you do sound like the real Jack Bauer
