Starting at home in a 2-3-2 series.

That would be possibly true but it’s a 2-2-1-1-1 series..

Damn, my mistake. If erroneous posts on my part lead to another period like the first, I'll post why I think we have the advantage playing Rimouski at the 4-Plex.

Yes, I definitely did not expect this result.
I was surprised to see the series was not 2-3-2 format - I'm guessing the new highway sections, completed since the last time Moncton played Rimouski, must have cut the road distance just enough to fall below the breakpoint?
Edit: I stand corrected - I had thought the 2009 series with Rimouski was a 2-3-2 format, but I just went back and looked at the results, and I was wrong - it was 2-2-1-1-1 that year as well, Moncton losing the series in game 5 at home.

It’s only about a 6 hour bus ride, I’m not sure what the cut off is but I can see why it’s not a 2-3-2, the trip isn’t that long really.

It’s only 513 km between the cities, I think it’s anything after 800(maybe 9) is 2-3-2

What a game! Definetly didn’t expect this WOOOO! I understand its only one game, but that was a great road game. Made the simple plays, didn't over complicate things, supported each other on back end during pinches, chipped puck out and worked for the goals... It helps that Grametbauer came to play too! I hope for much the same game 2! Go Cats Go!

Would be 2-3-2 With any other Maritime team.

I watched the game last night. I was very surprised by the defensive style they played. The Dmen stayed back for most of the game. There were a few instances where our Dmen pinched in and it created odd man rushes ... but Grametbauer bailed them out with many solid saves.
Grametbauer's rebound control was spot on ... great game from him.
Campanelli played a solid game ... seemed to be creating havoc for Rimouski
MacDonald still looked disinterested out there ... doesn't seem to have a solid effort in him.
The Refs seemed to be on our side this time ... usually in Quebec in the playoffs it is frustrating as hell.
In this morning's paper, Rumble commented that everybody had bought into the game plan and there were only 4 shifts where they got away from the plan and one resulted in the only goal against. As I said, we played a starkly different style of play last night compared to the shitty defensive style that we played all year. That tells me that Rumble did not have the respect of the players all year ... and that he was rewarding mistakes all season ... and rewarding players that did not play to the game plan. That is frustrating to hear.
Pelletier and Phelan were solid ... Miromanov was big on the point ... and will put a puck through the boards at some point. Solid games from Pataki, Khovanov, Welsh ... even Tucker and Arsenault kept things simple and seemed to play with an extra level of poise.
Grametbauer should have been first star.
