Anyone have any thoughts on Islander players who may have stood out I really liked Xavier Fortin. He’s everywhere on the ice. It seemed like he was always making a play; offensively and defensively. Could be a great pick for a 3rd rounder.

Dow would benefit from another year MAAA, Berube also. That could change if they make a big leap forward in the coming weeks. Arsenault playing two straight rookie games is not a good look, and he did not really stand out last night. I think they'll try and trade him for a pick.

If he can't find a spot on this D I can't imagine any other Q team making room for him. Is there a team out there that has less defensive depth than Moncton? I see him ending up in Jr A. Maybe in Summerside close to home.

Expect a large number of cuts by the end of the week.
I’d expect the number to be down to 30 by Saturday.

Anyone else find the Cats are playing way too many pre-season games this year? They have 11 while most teams are playing 6-7 and CB has only 5. I know the OHL tournament is a factor but even taking those out they would be playing 8. Three of them being within a week of the regular season starting which are completely useless games as rosters are already decided.
It's probably not a big deal but I did find a little startling when compared to other team's pre-season schedules.

Thursday at 12 for the CEGEP kids. So the backup role will be decided by Thursday then. I would say so if Paradis or Gaudreault are involved. Lavallee MacDonald and Daniels are not bound by those rules.

It's probably not a big deal but I did find a little startling when compared to other team's pre-season schedules. I wouldn't mind if the games were more front loaded at camp. You get some extra looks at guys and they get a smidge more experience for guys who likely won't be on the roster anyway. That's what I found made the rookie tournament fun to watch. I was disappointed when they ended it. But yes it does feel like a lot of unnecessary games just before season starts. I'm not really sure what the point is of the Ontario road trip. That's 3 extra games with a lot of unnecessary travel and expenses still a good 2 weeks before the end of preseason and 3 weeks before the season starts. Maybe it's for team bonding or whatever but at that point there's still going to be probably at least 30 guys in camp.
