Is it the bottom two in the overall standings that miss the playoffs, or is it the bottom of each conference? I can't find the article that describes it.
We use to have a similar conference setup but it was always the bottom of each conference that missed the playoffs, and the 9th place team in the east would slide over into the west ... by my poor memory.
Thanks ... lots of info in that video but I wish it was written document.
So ... bottom two teams in overall standings are eliminated ... and one or two teams from east will slide over into west. Top teams in each division get top two rankings in each conference. Rounds 1 and 2 are played within the conference. Round 3 and 4 go back to the overall standings to decide match-ups ... no crossover like we use to have ... just 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, re-ranked from overall standings.
Some other interesting things that answer some questions I have had during games this year ... delays to review items that they they never use to review. High sticks to ensure the right person was penalized ... delay of game penalties for puck over glass to make sure it didn't touch glass and a few other things.
