I love the fact that we are in first place!! I hope we are still there come Christmas....if not then at least top 5. Adding a few "SMALL" pieces to our defence would give us the depth we'd need come playoffs. I would say any deal that would require us to part with Bathurst's 1st or high-end futures is non-negotiable. With a little bit of tinkering, this team could do some damage come April. There must be some decent #3-4 defencemen available that wouldn't cost us selling the farm, because I'm quite comfortable with Aspirot/Spence/Sylvestre as our top 3. Does anyone remember what it cost us to acquire Nick Welsh? I don't remember all the details but he was part of the Askew trade. |

If they decided to Move on from Pataki a guy like Bilodeau would be a great add..but Pataki does bring a lot of intangibles & is one of the best defensive players on the team. He was especially good in the playoffs against Rimouski. Althought at Bilodeaus current pace he might cost more than a typical 20 year old in a Memorial Cup year. Racicot in Val'dor would be a cheap option. I'm not sure what direction Chicoutimi is going at Christmas but Diotte is a puck moving defenceman that could help some teams out. Although they may want to keep him as a 20 next season. |
