Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, November 13, that the team has recalled defenseman Jakub Zboril from Providence and assigned goaltender Dan Vladar to Providence. Sweeney also announced that goaltender Tuukka Rask will rejoin the team. Jeremy Lauzon and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson will remain with the team on regular recall.
Zboril, 21, has skated in 13 games with Providence this season, tallying two goals and two assists for four points with 16 penalty minutes and a minus-four rating.
In his first professional season with Providence in 2017-18, the 6-foot, 200-pound defenseman recorded four goals and 15 assists for 19 points in 68 games. He concluded the season with a plus-12 rating.
Prior to joining the Providence Bruins, Zboril spent three seasons with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. He played in a total of 144 games for the Sea Dogs, tallying 28 goals and 66 assists for 94 points with 174 penalty minutes and a plus-31 rating.
The Brno, Czech Republic native was originally selected by Boston in the first round (13thoverall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft
