I'm somewhat surprised that the Sea Dogs moved Nathan Larose in his second season with the team - especially after touting him as an elite prospect after he was acquired from Chicoutimi ... and then making him part of the leadership group with an "A" this year. I felt that he was turning a corner in the past month.
On the other hand, Alex Drover was the 10th pick this past summer and should fit nicely into the top 6 as the Sea Dogs build toward a championship challenge in 2020. As far as the fit in the short term, a lot will depend on whether the rumblings that Josh Lawrence could miss significant time in the second half due to an illness are indeed true.

So we now have Villeneuve (2nd), Poirier (8th), Drover (10th), Lawrence (15th), Burns (29th), DesRoche (32nd) plus Stairs who was ranked as a first rounder all on the current roster. I'm not sure of the history but this has to be some kind of record for one draft class.

The 2018 draft class has the potential to be every bit as good as - if not stronger than - the class of 2013 with Nathan Noel, Thomas Chabot, Mathieu Joseph and Sam Dove-McFalls. |
