It's not like attendance is in the toilet. The main thing they need is to build towards a contender. Have to figure something significant is going to happen this weekend ... 1) Deal away one or more vets as they realize this is not their year 2) Deal for an impact Euro to try and salvage the season (or other impact player - not sure if there is much left on the market at this point - likely an OA or two out there) 3) Coaching change Of the additions so far, neither Huntley or Giguere have made much of an impact so far ... I think it's 4) they stay the current course and add a Euro d-man for a 3rd or 4th rounder(Anttalainen/Ivan).

Again, the question has to be asked which I am sure crossed Irving’s mind. What have Saint John, Haxifax and Bathurst done the Moncton hasn’t been able to do- put a contending team together to go all the way to a Memorial Cup win. If small town franchise such as Bathurst can pull it off, that has to grate on RKI. That was my thought in the summer...why the "be good every year" if you are serious about hosting the MC and winning it at some point?

Current struggles aside, I don't think they are doing anything wrong in the big picture long term per se ... we have been to the Mem Cup twice in the past 13 years - lost the championship game at home after having gone in the front door as host in 2006 ... arguably would have been the favourite in Brandon in 2011 had we not come down with a few key injuries ... the plan basically worked both of those years, just came up a little short in the end ... need to get back to what we were doing well up until 6-7 years ago ...

That's what I mean, they had the right formula until Shannon and RKI got the brilliant idea that they could be the London Knights of the Q and it failed miserably.

Shannon was a bad hire ... not convinced Rumble was a lot better. We need to get back to having top notch hockey men managing and coaching the team ...

Tomorrow’s game in Charlottetown could be a turning point with another loss in that RKI just may decide a shakeup is in order

I do agree with your comments however looking from an RKI prospective the “could have been, might have been, but for the injuries and the like” during the past 13 years just may be a bit stale at this point. Then again some could argue(with some merit) that the staff he(RKI) has had over the franchise they all can’t be wrong as the owner micro- manages the organization. Just saying!!

Indeed. Tomorrow’s game in Charlottetown could be a turning point with another loss in that RKI just may decide a shakeup is in order Wasn’t that susposed to happen if they lost to Quebec? It did. I said it would happen by Monday. I don't think the loss to Charlottetown made any difference. We lost to Saint John twice in a week, and then lost to Patrick Roy ... plus all the trash play before that. They likely were waiting for the trade period to end, so they could start a proper search for a new guy.
