Torchetti would be a good hire, which means it probably won't happen lol. Hate to see anyone get fired even if it was long time coming. Good luck to Rumble.

Interesting situation where the GM role is also vacant ... if the chosen coach is not also offered the GM job, it is hard to offer a lot of job security when their future boss is not yet in place ...

I said this should have happened after last season and for a while it was starting to look like I was dead wrong. Unfortunately it turns out I was not.
By all accounts Rumble is a great guy and I'm sure he'll land a job elsewhere sooner than later. Best of luck to him.
He also doesn't have to work for Irving anymore so I'm sure there's a sense of relief to at least a small degree.

An organization has to have some sort of identity and objective. But I think its not been fair to Rumble. He had that team overachieve for so long and does he not get credit for any of that when they finally fall back to reality.
Did the owner get his hopes up with that fast start? They were pretenders all along. They also upset Rimouski last playoff in a 14 vs 3 series. But nobody gave a clear signal that they were going for it this year. They should be pretty good next year. Seems a bit knee-jerk to me.

Seems a bit knee-jerk to me. It isn't knee-jerk at all. Last year in the regular season we saw a terrible defensive team with a pretty poor group of Dmen. Then in the playoffs we had an "impossible" match-up with Rimouski ... 14 vs 3. In about a week he had convinced his team to buy into a much more cautious approach to team defense and we upset Rimouski because we played defense. Rimouski was pretty over-rated going into that though ... but they were far better than we were. So this year we started off the season as a very good team, playing solid Defense and scoring goals in bunches, and soared up the standings to the top, and were ranked in the CHL top 10. Then once we made the Top 10, a switched got flipped and we stopped playing a solid team defense, stopped working hard, and tried to win games on talent alone, and got out-worked by just about every team we faced. Here is the problem. If Rumble can get everybody to buy into his system then we have a good team. But he can't ... he was able to get them to buy in for a few weeks last year, but that has since worn off and we are back to being a bad defensive team. He does not have the respect of the players anymore. Yesterday he switched positions with Hepditch and ran the defence, while Hepditch ran the forwards. Same thing ... shitty team defence. This switch clearly shows he is out of ideas and we need a change.

How many of the Wildcats coaching changes have occurred mid season? Larue is the only one I can think of. I can't remember them all.

Seems a bit knee-jerk to me. Rumbles teams have always struggled to play defence which I always found very odd since he plyed defence at a professional level. To me, it showed that he was a poor coach if he couldn’t teach the skills that he used during his career. Rumble always stated that his preferred style was with a relentless forecheck to create turnovers and offence, and yet I never saw that style in one of his teams. Did he not try to teach them how to play this style that he preferred? Could he not teach them to play his preferred style? He was extremely piss-poor at developing talent. I can honestly say that this year was the first year that I was seeing good development over the first 15-20 games by multiple players. Both Sean and Jacob Stewart, Foreman, Lavallee, and Tucker showed significant growth over that time to me. Then some of these players regressed(to me) over the next 15 games however. Prospects not developing and/or regressing is another sign of a poor coach. His reward system for good play was a very inconsistent as well. Some players could make mistakes with no penalty, others would be benched for one bad shift...Bellamy /Arsenault 2017 I got to talk to Mr Rumble a few times over the years and he seemed like a very nice man-he was very good to me and my family at any rate. I’m sorry he lost his job, but I will not miss him behind the Cats bench.

Daniel LeBlanc should be offered the GM Job and he would find a very good coach in a flash.

Well it is certainly obvious the WC owner RKI has lost confidence in the head coach meeting whatever goals(pardon the pun) were set for this season. In my view what will be interesting going forward is how the players themselves adjust with JH at the helm, a good showing starting with a win against R-N and building on that will say a lot reading between the lines.
