Well here’s to hoping the road Wildcats show up. Really hoping for a great game with intensity, 60 min work effort and something you can leave the rink being happy you went.

They lost but got a point. They have a home and home with CB, they likely need to win both to get 4th. A split may guarantee CB 4th with only 5 games after(after those two).

The good news is the Cats came out with intensity and worked hard all game. Pelletier was all over the place last night...can't wait to see him as a 19 yr old. Leclerc wasn't really tested until the 3rd and even then, the Tigres were not threatening. Victoriaville played a textbook road game (simple, safe and chip of the boards any chance they had), not the most entertaining, but it got them the 2 pts. If the Cats would have been a little less snake-bitten around the net the game would have been over after the first. Defence looked stable and in control, with better zone breakouts and possession. I think we are starting to see some fruit from Torchetti's systems. Overall a really good game for the Cats minus the desired result. I still think no matter how well the Cats stick to Torchetti's style of play, they are clearly in the midpack of the league. Skill wise they do not match up at all with the big "4". As long as they keep improving and putting in the effort, the fans should be happy.

I am more anxious for the next draft, Cats at the best are a mid pack team, with a couple of bright lights, it will all become clear at this draft, I don't see ready to content next year unless we through everything in to make another false hope run, they need to continue building through the draft

They have some serious depth concerns but those spots are easier to fill. Keep in mind they are adding a euro, a top draft pick, Sam Dow from junior a, and hopefully a quality free agent or two. I don't see any clear front runner next season without making considerable trades. If the cats add a veteran goalie, and pay up for an elite defenceman, i think they have a legit chance. I'm okay with "emptying the cupboards" a bit as they will still have Pelletier, Spence, and the whoever they draft with their first pick to re load.

But the ultimate goal is the win the Memorial Cup, I would like to have seen them trade off assets last year and have 4 or 5 1st and 2nd rounds picks, and start a real rebuild, instead of a half ass attempt to win, perhaps a President cup, but you certainly won't have the fire power for a Memorial cup.
