Luke Bryan had Moncton posted on his tour list this evening for August. It has since been deleted but one has to think this has some substance. Has anyone else heard anything?

On 96.9 this morning they alluded to a major concert announcement this morning that was posted (by others) and then disappeared. Apparently sponsors aren't all in place yet so it can't be announced. That's all I know. I like country music but not a Luke Bryan fan.

Responses: "never heard of him" "I think he's one of the judges on American Idol" "isn't he the 'yes' guy from WWE?"

No names were mentioned this morning. No venue was mentioned either ... it could very well be at the Avenir Center.

Luke Bryan puts on a good show and is worth the admission, if you’re not a country music fan then you aren’t going to like it but if you are, he’s great to experience live.

The first guitarist hand-picked to be talented enough to replace Randy Rhodes on tour... but no one around Moncton would be familiar with either guitarist because we are still feeling the culturally limiting effects of CKCW radio.

Hands down the best country performances I seen last July at Cavendish. Plus he’s seems like a humble down to earth guy can’t wait for August 10

He was just here in Cavendish last year. I expect that many people will skip this show because of that ... "been there done that".

As a rock fan I just don't get how certain acts can come here and sell out in front of huge audiences and never come back again yet they book Luke Bryan in Moncton a year after he's at Cavendish.
Tom Petty played in this region once in his entire career.
Metallica is another that we should see more then once every 2 decades it seems like.
Pearl Jam should have the East Coast as a staple on every Canadian tour. Especially with the potential sites we have now.
Frustrating for those of us liking that genre.
Hope the country fans enjoy though.

He was just here in Cavendish last year. I expect that many people will skip this show because of that ... "been there done that". He sold out CBMF Sunday last year, so there's definitely a huge demand for him. I think for some people CMBF is not realistic to attend. There's too few accomodations available in the area, and costs get very high when you factor in a weekend pass $200+, accomodations (even camping is $400 for the weekend), gas, bridge tolls. The shuttle from Charlottetown is $60 for the day. Its almost impossible to try and just attend a one day show over there unless you live in the area. He also played a Sunday night where some people may not have been able to travel and get the Monday off. It will play a factor for sure, but I think you'll see a good crowd of local people who can experience a big concert for $150 that couldn't justify the CBMF experience. I also expect lots of people from Halifax, SJ, freddy etc who are closer to Moncton. I don't think you need to have 100K on the hill to make it successful. The number they are looking for is probably between 30-40K. The CBMF lineup is pretty weak this year, some people likely passed on it since the major artists have already been there. This show has more competition with some of the weekend shows at Darlings Waterfront in Bangor that people already booked & spent their money.
