Doesn't seem to be an offensive guy ... he must have defensive skills then. The Bruins had him rated as a first-rounder so they must have seen potential. Apparently, he has lots of offensive ability just not the stats you see. He was playing in the men's league. He was +5 on a weak team.

I’m sure they probably have something worked out with Boston that he’ll report here. Otherwise it makes no sense why they’d take him 30th. If he reports it likely fills one of the open top 4 spots Agree. If it was a wild card pick they would have likely picked a younger guy 1st then drafted him 2nd.

With Moncton making two picks today, I wonder what their plan is for Khovanov? Is the second pick just insurance for him not coming back, Minnesota signed him already so I can’t see him going back to Europe at this point. I think he is back. I can't see us cutting ties with him due to penalty issues ... and I can't see us trading him if we are planning to contend. He has too much skill to walk away from. He is here to learn and so this year he has to learn.

I’m hoping that they have something worked out but Halifax didn’t last year so who knows. Maybe they want to give him the chance to adjust to the NA style of game before bringing him to the AHL. Moncton with Torchetti as coach may have been an attractive option, especially since it’s close to Boston.

There's no question about his ability to play. The question is only if he comes here. I'm sure they've got somewhat of a commitment but that can change. Reminds me a bit of the Kalinin,Voynov days.

Okuliar would have been a good pick in the second round. I didn't realize he was available.

I note that some teams are taking goaltenders ... Sherbrooke seems to be the only Q team so far that took a goaltneder.

Doesn't look too exciting. I think I would have rather tried Prikryl.

That's a head scratcher. Why bother picking at all? They better not get rid of Khovanov now. If they were debating getting rid of Khovanov I would have thought they'd swing for fences on the second pick.

Boston’s player development coordinator was quoted as saying that Andersson will be playing in NA for sure this year but wasn’t sure whether it’d be in the AHL or Junior. His other comments don’t make it sound like they think he’s ready for the AHL yet so that might be good news.

And that's it ... all selections complete ... it took two hours to complete the draft for future reference.
