Basically CHSB was trying to say, the Titan were missing their top 2 20 year-old D and almost all of their top 6 forwards ... so we shouldn't get excited about an exhibition game. Which, on the surface, is pretty much true. Had it been the other way around, we might expect to hear more than the sound of crickets out of the north shore... 😉 So basically we didn’t play a Q level team lol. Thank you. Just wanted to know

It's not too early to comment on last night's lineup. That's what he was referring to. He's basically saying that he doesn't expect a lot of those players to make the team this season.

Even you said they are the second coming of Morand and Maher, not to mention Kuznetsov and his 33 goals as a 17 year old. You can't go "Oh big deal you beat our rookie team" on one hand, but then on the other say "Bathurst is going to surprise this year because our rookies will play and they are really really good expect big things" Using your logic I can say things like: Joshua Roy is the real deal guys I can see it in exhibition playing against other team's cast offs, and in training camp skating against our own cast offs. His 2 points in 1 game proves it. Thats a pace for 136 points this year. He might not be able to do that due to injuries and stuff, but 100 points in the regular season is by no means a stretch. Surely even you can see how retarded that way of thinking is.

You're right. That might hold Roy back a little bit, not being able to play with guys as good as the Titan veteran superstars. MacDonald is going to be and stay healthy this season, with his head on straight all year long, and put up Mike Bossy type goals

With the trade period ending on Monday do the Dogs make any trades? Either to give some of the bubble guys a chance to play somewhere else or to bring in some Veteran experience on the blue line. Personally I would like to see them get a good 19 year old d-man that will play as a 20. We have the assets to do it.

Here is the recap from the loss to the Mooseheads last night. Any thoughts on the game from anyone there? The same two teams go at it again tonight in St. Stephen.
The Saint John Sea Dogs were handed their first loss of the pre-season on Thursday night at the hands of the Halifax Mooseheads. Cole McLaren backstopped the Mooseheads to a 4-3 win with an impressive 42 saves. Saint John is now 2-1-0-0 in the pre-season.
17-year-old Mathias Savoie got the start in goal splitting time with Noah Patenaude, the recently signed Swiss national team goalie.
Saint John opened the game with an extended power play after Joel Bishop ran Kale McCallum into the boards and received a five-minute major and a game misconduct. McCallum remained in the game.
After close to 15 minutes of scoreless play William Poirier got the Sea Dogs on the board first with a nifty breakaway backhand finish.
Saint John led the shots in the first 14-6.
Four minutes into the second period Halifax tied the game when Gavin Hart knocked in a rebound. The Mooseheads then took the lead three minutes later when Senna Peeters redirected a a Marcel Barinka shot.
Saint John replied with a power play goal of their own when Dawson Stairs scored his first of the pre-season at 16:38. The Fredericton, NB product has looked impressive this training camp and has shown great chemistry with fellow 17-year-old Alex Drover.
Noah Patenaude took over for Mathias Savoie in the Sea Dog’s goal halfway through the second. Savoie finished with nine saves. This was Patenaude’s pre-season debut and first game in North America.
Saint John carried a 29-14 shot lead into the third period.
Ten minutes into the third period Maxim Cajkovic found a rebound and ripped a shot into the open cage to give Saint John a 3-2 lead.
The lead was short lived as penalties proved costly for the Dogs. Connor McCluskey went off for high sticking at 13:39. Less than a minute later Deakin-Poot locked up with Cameron Whynot and both received roughing penalties with Deakin-Poot getting an extra two minutes for tripping.
On the ensuing power play Halifax tied the game 3-3 on a Peeters redirect of a Jason Horvath shot. Samuel Dubé sealed the game for Halifax at 17:19 with their third power play goal of the night.

I would think our D men tonight will be 58 CHARLIE DESROCHES 54 JEREMIE POIRIER 48 PATRICK MUSICO 7 JOONA LEHMUS
Other two (2)will be one of these guys: NICOLAS KAKOURAS, CONNOR MCCLUSKEY, JORDAN SPADAFORE or ELLIOT ST-PIERRE
We will know if a trade is done by Monday if St-Pierre is one of the new Dmen. Thoughts on his play?

Tonight was the second time being at the rink this summer? First was second day of camp. I know it’s exhibition guys I’d cut from tonight’s game are gallant,O’neill, vander voet, I liked savoies game reminded me of a young Sam dove mcfalls , could play here but wouldn’t hurt sending him to midget until Xmas . Wasn’t impressed with the 3 bubble D guys. Josh Roy His skating needs improvement, he had a quiet night I wish they would have had him playing with guay but instead Macintosh and Jacob good players but not the right types.
