In light of Thomas Chabots 8 year extension, I’m curious to know if anyone else is surprised with not only his new contract but also how well he has played in Ottawa. I apologize if there’s already a thread on him, I couldn’t find any.

Not surprised at all. He was dominant in junior and his play at the World's made it clear he had elite talent among the very best at that level. Should be the next Sea Dog Hall of Famer if he isn't already.

I do expect he’ll be a star for years to come.

I’m very happy for him and wish him all the best. He’s the all time best D-man the dogs have ever produced. IMO
