Wow the line of Pelletier and Khovanov was filthy. L'heureux also did his part.
Rodrigue did not look to be his best.
MacDonald looked like a different player, looks like he has straightened out his life and was flying out there. 5 point night.

I thought Daoust showed he can play in the Top 9 in this league. Rodrigue wasn’t overly sharp but got better late in the game. We know he can play so no worries there. We definitely need to add 2 D-Men (Hopefully 1 is Axelsson). The depth was showing quite clearly on the back-end.

Fun game of hockey to watch with the back and forth on goals, quite enjoyable. Hope rest of the season is entertaining, Wildcats have the appearances of a quality team.

Entertaining game last night, with the exception of the second period, which the Cats didn't show up for.
Offensively, the top line was excellent, L'Heureux is going to be a dominant player in this league as he gets a bit stronger and gets his timing down - he was in the middle of several great chances last night - obviously being with Pelletier and Khovanov will boost his stats and IMO accelerate his development. Second line of Cyr-Desnoyers-Alberg had a few chances but was relatively quiet - Alberg has great speed, but seems to lack finishing ability. Third line of Seitz-Hudson-Daoust also looked good, and the fourth line had a few chances as well and brought decent energy.
Rodrigue seems very quick with both his legs and blocker - most of the goals were as a result of defensive breakdowns.
Speaking of the defense ... ouch. We are going to need a couple of big upgrades on the blueline if we hope to contend. Last night looked like a group where most of the guys were slotted above their current skill level - 2nd pair guys asked to play first pair, 3rd pair guys playing top 4, bottom pair guys who should be 7-8 types. Don't get me wrong - the young guys like Dow and Desrosiers (nice find as a 16 year old late round pick by the way, played top 4 minutes last night) did not look completely out of place, but IMO, are being asked for too much at this time - need to allow them to slide back into 6-7 d-man type roles and grow accordingly.
Bathurst is a big, physical team. Wins may still be tough to come by this season, but they are not going to get walked over like last year - they will be a tough two points most nights, and should be an easy team for the home town fans to cheer for. MacDonald looked great - Cats could use a big bodied forward like him in their top six.

He’s pretty much an unknown quantity, but I’m sure he would help the slotting as everybody slides down one notch on the depth chart(IF he comes as advertised)

If he is comparable to either of Alexi Tezikov or Jan Horacek, I would take that in a heartbeat. Heck, I’d even take a Bartulis clone(without the agent/Russian mafia distractions of course lol). I know I’m already missing Anttalainan though
