After a very good 2000’s where the team seemed to have a plan and try to win, the 2010’s went wonky…
They started 2010 with a powerhouse team that got to the MC and may have won had Riopel not gotten sick. The next 8 years were mostly mediocre with not much of a plan other than the 2016-17 sell off and the 19-20 contending year. Lots of Roger Shannon-esque sideways deals sprinkled with a bad/badly timed trade for Danault.
I would say the highlight of the decade is the 2010 Presidents Cup. The lowlight(s) were the Torchetti episode this year and winless streak in 2016-2017.
Here is hoping they have a plan during the 2020’s…

The highlights would be the 2010 Presidents Cup and Game 5 against Gatineau in 2016. I’ll never forget that comeback and how nuts the Coliseum was going for it.
The big lowlight is Saint John winning the Memorial Cup and Irving ratcheting up the meddling in response which led to a whole lot of nothing throughout the decade. The other one of course would be not taking Makarov in the Lewiston dispersal draft.

A couple other highlights worth mentioning
Game 7 win on home ice against Halifax with hundreds of Moose fans in attendance in 2015 is worth a mention.
Garland taking over as the all time franchise points leader. Not sure if this one will ever be broken. Pelletier would have a look at it if he were to play a full season next year with Moncton but thats not happening.

2009-10 was a highlight ... but we definitely lost our way after that. Things started to go south with the Gormley trade in 2011-12 - rather than setting up for a proper run by stockpiling youth and picks, we went for one year players in the attempt for a half-assed run in 2012-13 (which included the ill-fated Danault trade) ... from there we seemed to tread water with a bunch of sideways moves, too much selling low on young players before they were given time to reach their full potential. 2016-17 second half was an absolute embarrassment, especially since we weren't even basking in the glow of recent success of any magnitude - the team we iced in the second half was one of the worst the CHL had ever seen (until the 2018-19 Titan stepped up and said "Hold my beer"). The individual brilliance of Garland would stand as a highlight, and the promise of the first half of this season would be another. As for Torchetti - that was just weird - and we may never know what really happened.

Philippe Daoust’s 1st goal scored on a goalie. Historic moment.
