The part I'm wondering about is this: "...and were practising at 10:15 at their facility. If you actually intended to play in this hockey game, how do you already have a practice lined up within an hour?" Is this really as much of a smoking gun as Georgie makes it sound? If they meet and depart from that facility, have all their equipment there, and find out they're not going, and since school was (presumably) cancelled, is it that far-fetched that they could have organized a last-minute practice? He would likely know better than I, but to me it doesn't seem so unreasonable. Can anyone with some insight comment on this? And yes, I realize there are other issues and reasons to be suspicious but I'm wondering about this part specifically. Seems odd to me to practice, travel 4-5 hours, and play the same day when you're starting out at home. I'd be curious how often Halifax does something like that....practice at home the same day of a road game.

Passed the Islanders bus going opposite way at Hampton, PEI (Charlottetown side of Crapaud) at 1:15PM- the Islanders were on their way to Halifax for a 7PM game. It's normal. Game day skate then board the bus. U estimate they get to Halifax about 4:30 imagine a pit stop puts them in at 5. Then drive back after the game. For Friday before a 3 in 3. You may get one skate in on a normal weather day. Drive to game. Play game. Drive to next city in morning play game and so on. So they get only that one team practice/skate. It's pretty normal in this league.

The reason they are letting you use your ticket on any game remaining, and not just the makeup game is because there may be no makeup game - depending on the playoff implications.

My understanding is that the practice was only scheduled as a result of the team deciding to cancel their trip that was originally scheduled to leave at 9 am. Georgie seems to be suggesting that the practice was booked well in advance (implying the Mooseheads knew all along they would not be traveling Friday) because he doesn't seem to think they could have had a 10:15 practice scheduled otherwise. He might be right but to me it seems plausible that they could have scheduled a practice on the fly within an hour if the facility is their meeting/departure point.

I think their bus was delayed. The players were there and not in school, but school was canceled so they werent home in bed. Normal practices are after 3:30 so this was just a good use of time until they had clarity. Still no smoking gun. No Mr. Smith did it with the lead pipe in the conservatory moment. On a normal day with no bad weather they likely optional skate and head out.

So now it is safe for the players to travel to the arena twice and leave at 1 (which meant that they wouldn't have made it to SJ on time even if they kept driving and that part of the journey would be on a dark, icy highway)?

There's no smoking gun, but there is a combination of all events that makes it clear the Mooseheads intentions: - Unwilling to travel up thursday - Phone call that gave indication that Halifax was hoping to cancel the game to avoid a 3 in 3. (next 2 being at home and would not have to travel down for 1) - Cancel bus friday morning - Decide to practice immediately after - leave late Its pretty obvious they had no intention of playing the game until the league called and told them they had to. They treated the situation unprofessionally like it was a midget AA game they were playing.

Obviously they are not able to just cancel trips without league approval or they would not have been ordered by the League to travel. If in fact that did happen.

Unwilling to travel Thursday could mean didnt want to leave before noon Thursday and when the weather got worse decide to see if a better window would be Friday morning. I know in our work we had guidance that Friday morning weather may be better for some trips but nobody knew for sure on Thurs AM how long the ice would be on Friday before change to rain "Phone call that gave indication" - are you the Democrats? Heresay and your source is making the charge. For all we know Cam just said F. Off and hung up. "Cancel bus Friday morning" - we are not sure of this. Heresay again. The bus company was skittish to leave at 9. So did they cancel that bus and schedule another. I think they delayed leaving but since I'm not the one making the charge... "Decide to practice" - well they were ready to go and had the team together. Would be far worse if players were sent home...wouldnt it? "Treated the game unprofessionally" - it still comes at a cost to Halifax. Everyone lost that day. They had to stay in a hotel in Moncton. I think they did what they could when most common sense onlookers would say dont even bother boarding the bus. Look until you get the other side to this story it's useless to judge. And the only one looking unprofessional is the one who went to the press and did an end run around the league giving a black eye to all involved. I wouldnt do that if I had plans on bidding to host a Memorial Cup in a year.

I wouldnt do that if I had plans on bidding to host a Memorial Cup in a year. They are not all heresy. Halifax DID leave late. They are not contesting that fact. They did refuse to leave early. Again, they told both SJ AND the league that they wouldn't. They did not have the team ready. When they canceled the bus, the players were safely at home. According to your previous posts, they risked the safety of all involved by making them come to practice, sent them away, then made them come back for the bus ride (since there was a gap in between "practice" and the bus). And you are the only dumbass who thinks that driving down a dark icy highway in a full bus is an intelligent decision.

And i'm not trying to win a court case. I'm just making a logical conclusion. It's only logical to conclude they had no motivation to get the game in. The bolded point makes no sense. They had no intention of losing the day because they never intended to leave Halifax. It was only when the league told them they had to go is why they lost the day. They thought the cost time cost would be zero, and then it back fired on them.
