Hey guys, just wanted to post some thoughts.
Masse - Clendenning played a great game out there. Unfortunately, you either need to put up with mediocre performances beside them until someone else develops chemistry with them or keep trying new people. None of Critchlow, Svoboda, or Jezegou looked good with them
Faille had a great game. Royal thorn in the dogs side. Scored a 2 on 0 goal.
Svoboda beat up Jeff McNeil. McNeil barely got any punches in. Smearer beat Sparling. Even amount of punches but Smearer drew blood so he gets the decision. Landry wrapped two hands around Thomas and threw a couple of punches before he got beat up terribly. Thomas just started heaving haymakers to his face.
Vincent Couture seemed to be really trying out there, but he got poke-checked a lot
Grenache can really fly in space, but didn't do much other than steal a few pucks.
Tardif played awesome. He wasn't as busy as the shot count in period 1, but had to make countless big saves in period 2.
You could be looking at next game without Clendenning as he tried to hit Sauve with a flying elbow with 11.3 seconds left.

I would think that the Coach were be fairly pleased with the 2 games on the weekend with only 3 goals given up and 16 scoring chances.
I say this because alot of practice time was spent on 1 on 1 defence, defensive zone coverage, defensive zone slides and breakouts to name but a few.
The Goaltending coach seems to have changed his approach this year so far as he is talking to the goalers alot more as they are defending which includes keeping them much busier during offensive slow times. Lots of 4 corner slides, post coverage and up and downs.(not the proper terms I'm sure)
Finally between drills , the coach wants players to handle puck as they go 1 on 1 with a partner and then on the whistle they skate the middle circle twice and then head around the outside with the puck.

Clendenning got 2 minutes,Leduc got a two minutes, a misconduct and Sauvé got a misconduct on that time.... I would say that the ref judged differently than you did.

Sauve got 2 for delay of game.
Sauve and Leduc got 10 each for arguing the delay of game.

The ref didn't really see it, he was blocked out. Though the camera was too, so Clendenning may be okay. It was definitely an elbow, though. And he jumped into it.

That's strange because the Q site lists only 4 dangerous shots on him.

That's because tipped shots from the point don't count as Ds. And there were 7 or 8 in the last two periods on him.

That's why they vary from arena to arena. If it makes a diff, I rarely count the tipped shot as a ds, I stick with the zone (cone shaped).

I hope he plays as good as you guys are saying he played today in the regular season. I would say he was the best player on the ice by far...

I put no stock at all in the Ds on the Q site they don't count a point shot that the goaltender can't see to many variables they are not really that accurate.
