Regular Season is done. Playoffs are still on hold for now....but it won't be long before they are cancelled.
If we do get to play the playoffs, it would be the Cats vs Baie-Comeau in round 1.

I think you are right - it is not super clear - it appears to be a poor translation. The French version of the article seems more clear that it is referring to regular season. The English headline would seem clear, the text less so.

I fear we won't see another junior game this year. Best case would be to have players back on or around April 15th and playoffs start late April/May 1st. They would need to fit in 2 weeks and have the MC late May unless they want to push it 2-3 weeks.
I expect the current measures to last 2 months wiping out all levels of hockey. In 4 weeks it will be peaking, not be "almost done".

I think the only way we are seeing this version of the Wildcats on the ice again is if they come up with a vaccine and that can be quickly distributed.

I'd rather see a tournament within the Q and have the top 6 or 8 teams play, and then the final two teams would play a best of 5 or 7 whatever time would allow. The entire reason that they haven't scrapped the playoffs to date is because 5 teams spent big to try to contend. BBA is not one of those teams, so I can't see allowing them in and blocking CB and/or Rim, but I get it that we are already set up in conferences and that's how it would play out.

I think the Memorial Cup needs to be scrapped for the season. Focus on league playoffs if thats even possible which appears doubtful. Just read an NHL timeline in the Athletic saying they may do playoffs in August/September and offseason in October. Fear being if they start too early....say in 8 weeks....and a player gets the virus then the season would be over.

So here is a question. It is my understanding that most players have gone to their homes, including the Import players. I don't think that Andersson and Khovanov would even be allowed back here anytime soon if we were to start back up. Of course other teams would face that same dilemma, with CB losing Sokolov, Sher losing Hlavaj, and so on. But I think we'd lose out big if that was the case.
I think the only way we see more Q hockey this season is if we have a vaccine.

A few other euro's stayed, Sokolov (CB) and Victo Euro's.

Not sure about some of the other countries but in Russia it is very traditional for extended families to live together. The players likely didnt want to risk catching something in an airport (highly likely compared to just staying at home) and giving it to their parents/grandparents.
